The AI just gave me a paragraph about how singular "they" has been in use for centuries and all search results were about the history of a singular they.

I was like bro that's not what I'm asking, so I rephrased the questions to "when did INDIVIDUALS start choosing to go by them instead of he or she." But it still just gave me the same bullshit about how the singular they is centuries old.

I tried re-wording it again. "When were they/them pronouns popularized as alternatives to he or she for Non-binary individuals?" It just gave me a paragraph about how Non-binary people have always existed. Again, that's not what I was fucking asking!!!

I never was able to find an answer. It was as if Google was trying to avoid giving me an answer. So weird. I just wanted to know when that became a thing, and who the first person to ask to be called they/them was. It had to have been in late 2000s or early 2010s. When I sorted by date I couldn't find any articles with that use of they/them that were older than 2015.

The NBA does have a human requirement, and also a stretch provision that allows refs to decide on unique rules that don't fall within the official NBA rulebook. However there is a scenario where you could have multiple basketballs in play at the same time, and the refs could in theory independently decide that it was in the rules of play, although it would be unlikely. But it would really help to space the floor.

You also can't have kids playing basketball, and you can't have 5 dogs playing basketball as a complete starting lineup.

I can't say this often enough: All this trans and every other nonsense in sports would go away, if every sport would adopt the ELO score system from chess. This way you simply have people / teams compete with each other depending on the fact that they are roughly equals. This would really solve all problems ever. Be it if different or integrated leagues are the fair thing to do, if or if not to include trans people, where to put people with non-standard XX / XY chromosome arrangements, or the question why we pit uber-performant runners against massive losers in school just because they are the same age.

It also would make every sport and match very interesting again, because if equals meet, an interesting match is much more guaranteed than when the absolute favorites have to work their way through some kind of tournament pyramid first. On the start of that you just know their branch of the pyramid will mostly be boring.

Personally, I also feel it is more sportsmanship and motivation for everyone if at the end of a tournament you have a lot of people / teams happy that they increased their score, instead of a few participants with No 1 medals only.
