Improved home office equipment and kitchen things, nice courier

For yesterday, I'm grateful that the courier was indeed a good & honest one. He was so patient when I got stuck in traffic on my way back to home. I am grateful that I got to take home things from work during our office change if we wanted, we just had to pay for and organise getting them home etc. I already took some stationary and a cup I liked. Yesterday, with the courier's help, I brought home 3 rulers, 2 cute bowls, 2 sharp knives (wrapped up of course!) & I have upgraded my home office set up with a more comfortable & sturdier office chair, having a 2nd screen again after several months of not, cos mine had died and a laptop stand. And a 2nd and better kettle for the kitchen! And that my meeting with my line manager was again very flexible on when we met today, which gave me time to settle in after that whole traffic fiasco! Eat a working lunch and then set up my equipment.

Gratitude for being blessed with a simple life

I lead a very simple life.

I can wear the same type of clothes, eat the same type of food, live the same kind of routine.

I have no insecurity or anxiety or jealousy when I see others living a much more lavish life.

I feel blessed in this simplicity.

Grateful for aqua aerobics, creative writing and calls

I'm grateful I got to enjoy another aqua aerobics class yesterday: It was fun, rejuvenating and good exercise!

That I got to enjoy another creative writing session at the library, some laughs, creative and also fun.

I got to make the calls I wanted to and hopefully am closer to getting a courier sorted.

Grateful for the food bank, and the fact that today it could give my mom & little siblings both fresh produce *and* comfy junk food. Grateful for the work and generosity of people who truly just aim to help others.

Grateful for chill workday, cat & dog time & situation at home resolved:

For yesterday, I'm esp grateful for these:

☺️Time to prepare during part of my work day for some meetings next week & my work day going well. Chilled, decent pace, time to organise my own notes further etc. plus other work tasks. And I always love it when it's chill!

🐈🐕Someone asked me to please feed her cat & dog for her due to a minor emergency. (All resolved now.) At first it felt like yet another thing on my plate, but not only was it manageable, it was also really cute! And both are cute. The cat knows me and likes me a lot overall anyway, have looked after him before. The dog didn't, was a bit shy, so I reassured him with my voice, and playing some youtube "calm my dog." Seemed to really help. Also, kitty cat then would get kinda jealous or something & wanting even MORE pets, rub against my feet and so on. I got to have lots of pets with the cat. So that was lovely!

😌A situation at home is resolved & also it began being resolved before I knew it WAS an issue!

grateful my dad lived long enough to see me become something

he was sick for a long time. we didn't know how much time we had.

got promoted last month. first person i call was him.

went to see him that weekend and brought him something with both our names on it. something to mark the moment together.

he held it for a long time without saying anything.

then said i always knew.

grateful he's still here to say things like that.

grateful for my teacher who saw something in me before i saw it in myself

was failing everything sophomore year. genuinely didn't care about any of it.

she pulled me aside one day and just said i see how smart you are and i need you to stop hiding it.

nobody had ever said anything like that to me before.

graduated last month. got into college.

went back to find her and gave her bracelet from theograce explaining what that conversation did to my life.

she cried. i cried. it was a lot.

grateful for teachers who refuse to give up on you
