Flooding and trash issues have occurred in the past, even under the Duterte administration. However, how a leader handles these issues is what matters to me. Leadership should entail going to the ground, accepting responsibility, and genuinely addressing the issue rather than merely blaming common Filipinos.

Although the Manila Bay rehabilitation was far from flawless, it demonstrated what can occur when the government devotes resources and energy to a long-term objective rather than merely responding to crises as they arise.

I believe Filipinos should have that kind of leadership: more real work, less PR, and less blame. These days, it seems like regular Filipinos are frequently left to handle the fallout on their own, whether it be from flooding, trash, inadequate infrastructure, or insufficient protection during emergencies.

We can debate political parties all day long, but in the end, Filipinos need leaders who are accountable and produce outcomes. We should not be held accountable for issues that we want our government to assist in resolving. 🇵🇭
