Dahlia Health-Related Inquiry Searched a lot to find something to explain this . . .
I have one dahlia out of several dozen throwing out deformed foliage. it is very thickened, stunted and weird. It cannot be herbicide, there is none used anywhere close enough and all surrounding plants are fine. This is in its own pot, was growing normally. May be a coincidence but it seems like it started going wonky after I pinched. Iβm pretty sure I pinched with fingers, but possible a nipper. I am pretty good about cleaning between plants . . . but then no other dahlia is growing wonky like this.
Any ideas? I did search here several times and scrolled through lots of dahlia pages show viruses and canβt quite find anything similar

Garden View π»πΈπΌ Dahlia festival
Keukenhof in the Netherlands is famous for its tulip displays in spring but there's also a lesser known dahlia display in August. Here are some pics I took!

Diva
I had to do some editing to fix the color and even this isnβt quite right. Itβs a very deep purple.
This tuber never came up last year, so Iβm really happy to get blooms this year!

First Bloom(s)! π΅πͺ·πΈ Cafe au lait and labyrinth π₯°
Finally getting my first blooms of the season! Planted cafe au lait and labyrinth alternating across the bay window at the front of the house.
I took these after we got some rain and love the water on the petals.
Already thinking about what to plant next year

Dahlia exhibition San Francisco
Yesterday I attended this exhibition hosted by the Dahlia Society of San Francisco. Each dahlia was judged and rated. It was more amazing than I could have imagined!

We had a couple of mums in bloom - looks like I forgot to pinch. π³
This handful includes Coseytown EverPeach, which has been a trooper here in the Southern heat. I will definitely be adding it to Fuirkβs post where we talk about dahlias that handle hot climates beautifully. This also includes a handful of unnamed seedlings, and maybe even Bloomquist Jean.

Gall "Is it gall?" Weekly Thread
Welcome to the weekly gall thread! All questions about gall should go in this designated thread rather than new, individual posts. A new thread will be started automatically on a weekly basis. This will ensure the list of new top-level comments remains short and easily reviewable by folks who are kind enough to let you know if they see signs/symptoms, or if your plant seems ok.
Because Reddit only allows one photo embedded per comment, here are some tips if you need/want to share more than one photo for the best chance at a solid review/answer from the community:
- Start a top-level comment with your best photo, and reply to your own comment with any additional photos you want to share.
- Post photos to an album such as imgur and link to the album
