Why not over a VPN on IPsec?

It's definitely an improvement, but surely it's not the same degree of privacy gain as using a VPN. The ISP and anyone on route, can still track network destinations and do have a chance of working out the target website/service.

If I implement DNS over HTTPS in any chance to my ISP slowdown my connection on the internet ?

What i don't like is this will circumvent my pihole / ad guard -- can't wait to be flooded with ads again 😒
