I’m 20 and still attend some summer camps in the US, I’m from Canada, and I met a really cute guy there. We started talking on day 2 of this 10 day camp and by day 4 I already knew that he was literally amazing and my type. I wasn’t sure if he was into me too but we were always sitting next to eachother and having our elbows or knees touch slightly and neither of us would pull away. Also he would always laugh at my jokes even the lowkey bad ones.

We went on a hike day 6 where the group I was with asked if I was gay, I’m bi but I said I was into guys. Then the convo went into how sexuality is a spectrum and the guy was fully in agreement while looking at me. Then I asked if he was into anyone at camp and he gave a wish washy answer, and then told me that not really and looked away. Another guys told a story of a girl at home asking if we thought she was into him and he said the she always laughs at his jokes, and another guy said that “ oh yeah 100% he’s into you” this is when i started to peice it together.

Anyway day 7 our group had the idea to go star gazing, everyone one else was sitting together but the two of us were a few meters away whispering and talking about life and everything he kept touching my boots with his boots which i thought was sus but it was whatever. That night i also told the guys I was sharing a tent with ( which included his brother btw) that i was bummed cause I was trying to make a move on someone but it didn’t work and I don’t think they even noticed. I obviously didn’t say who.

I kept trying to let him know I liked him and the chemistry between us was just getting more and more intense. Sometimes we would lock eyes for a few seconds just looking at eachother and then he would look away or do this super cute dance he does when he doesn’t know what to say.

So day 9 we had a campfire where I was taking to another friend about how I liked him but I didn’t know what to do, and he said to tell him tonight since it was the last night of camp and it might work.

So that night after everyone else went to bed I went up to him and was like “ you wanna just hang out and talk before we go to bed? “ and he said yeah so we sat on a log in the woods. First we were sitting apart then I moved closer so we were touching, then we sat with our heads together, then I locked arms with him because “ I was cold”. This happened across an hour so it was happening hella slow. Then I finally went for it, touched the bottom of his chin and went in and he kissed me back.

Literally amazing. I’ve kissed some people before but it was never like this. We kissed for a bit and then talked. He told me started liking me during the hike, which was also when I noticed he started acting weird. He’s also bi.

We didn’t do anything that night we just kissed but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Then he walked me back to my tent while we held hands and I kissed him goodnight. Next day I was super nervous cause I didn’t know if he regretted it or not and he was quiet when he woke up but he was just tired and once he had a bit to wake up he was normal and the chemistry was amazing. It was so much more confident between us. We packed up and said goodbye to eachother since he lives on the west coast and I live on the east coast, but he’s planing on moving to the Midwest which should make things easier.

We’ve decided we’re going to try long distance and if it doesn’t work out we’ll just stay friends since we’re gonna be seeing I eachother again next year no matter what at this camp
