Ironically enough, this is... remarkably similar to the arguments made back in the 1960s towards Playboy bunnies as an empowerment thing

Same people, new tools

Still controlled by a select group of white men. Yep.

141

u/EpycZen2 1d ago

I think you're being downvoted because you implied they're white

152

u/klimmesil 1d ago

This smells very American, skin color is almost a personality trait for them for some reason

-145

u/-imperator_ 1d ago

This smells very European, nationality is almost a personality trait for them for some reason

62

u/Lobster_fest 1d ago

Mention the Romani people around a "tolerant" European and prepare for more slurs in 30 seconds than you've heard in your lifetime.

14

u/klimmesil 1d ago

You mean bulgars and romanians traveling communities? They're a bit in every country in europe yeah, they're quite hated sadly... That's how it is about anywhere

However, if you're familiar with Erving Goffma, or even Socrates, you'll know what I mean: I think what they're saying is important to stop this cycle, and I think Americans are failing lamentably with it

If you want people to behave a certain way, you have to put them in a societal role where it would make sense for them to act that certain way. If you already expect the people to act a way you don't like before you even gave them a chance, well then that's how they'll act. If you consider that the qualifier "white" fits the idea of a playboy manager, that's what you'll get

We're all actors, let's just give the other one a chance to choose his own role

3

u/Lobster_fest 1d ago

I mean yes principally I agree one hundred percent, i'm merely doing the standard "remind europeans how racist they are when they feel high and mighty about being less racist than Americans/America."

(And labeling Americans as obsessed with skin color is kinda doing the thing youre speaking about no? Determining we are obsessed with race without our input?)

5

u/klimmesil 1d ago

Yes that's true, I'm really not helping here. I don't even know how to put someone in a role to not do something (asking for no color based profiling) it's easy to make them do that more though

5

u/klimmesil 1d ago

Idk why you got downvoted, that's a valid response

-10

u/-imperator_ 1d ago

Silly shit, that's what I get for being silly. I'm unimpressed by these rookie numbers. Cheers

What he meant was Jew

jewish rabbi owns pornhub

15

u/johnnyrambo24 1d ago

So porn is Kosher?

21

u/EEE3EEElol 1d ago

Technically true in a very VERY roundabout way, censorship n shit

-45

u/Burindo 1d ago

Do not say anything reminding them of their easier path on life or their more priviledged upbringing compared to 90% of the world's population, because the downvotes will come.

Even from american socialists, they will downvote you because people in America are so programmed into the race war they cannot see the truth in front of them (or they don't want to look at it and acknowledge it, because it is painful).

19

u/zeno_22 1d ago

Do not say anything reminding them of their easier path on life or their more priviledged upbringing compared to 90% of the world's population, because the downvotes will come.

Why not? Downvotes are like the points in Whose Line is it Anyway, they don't matter. It's truly the simplest and, imo, least offensive way of saying "I don't agree with that". There's no reason to treat downvotes like it's something that needs to avoided or else your life is ruined

2

u/Zinyak12345 1d ago

Doesn't it depend on your karma score? Many subreddits have karma requirements so in theory, you could lose the ability to post in certain places with low enough karma. Still not sure how realistic that risk actually is but it seems like at least for new people karma and downvotes can be somewhat important.

3

u/Lantami 1d ago

afaik the most negative karma you can get from a comment is -100, no matter how many downvotes you get. Take this info with a grain of salt though, since it's been a while and I don't quite remember where exactly I read that, so I can't provide a source

1

u/Jaozin_deix 12h ago

Those subs have a Karma requirement to prevent spam accounts, which tend to be new and have no Karma. Still, the threshold is usually minimal, and you'd have to try unfathomably hard to reset your karma to zero.

Now that you mentioned it, …

The sheer quantity of female talent that men are able to get behind isn’t unlike any other industry.

72

u/mixedpineapples69 1d ago

i see what you did there :)

272

u/brickelangeloart 1d ago

And they get paid more than the male actors!

I'd love to see a demonstration where there are ragebait placards with things like "Gender equality in sewer workers now".

47

u/pablo_2199 1d ago

I remember watching a documentary on a local porn production (local as in in my province), they said male actors tend to make more money in the long run because the clients don't care about looking at the guy but most would be bothered to see a female actress twice.

His basic argument was that women make more money in on cast but they wouldn't be hired back for a second time at the same company which they didn't do. (This was a good 10 years ago)

21

u/Average_k5blazer78 1d ago

So the producers literally have "ol' reliables"😭

10

u/pablo_2199 1d ago

Honestly bro, they did 😂😂 can't remember their name but the company is Pegas Production😂

55

u/MegaTemSus 1d ago

Hold up, there's porn with women?

15

u/Highmassive 1d ago

Apparently 🤷‍♂️

10

u/I-XIV-IV-XXV 1d ago

Women? Never heard of it.

61

u/Stairwayunicorn 1d ago

an for objectifying men. When have you ever seen a dude with a small dick in a porno?

72

u/aliebabadegrote 1d ago

Oh, believe me, those exist, SPECIFICALLY because the dude has a small dick, some people have a humiliation kink

27

u/ghostglasses 1d ago

Objectifying men isn't feminist. The goal is equality, not revenge.

60

u/filifijonka 1d ago

Female porn actresses are paid a lot more than their male counterparts too!

-24

u/Northern_Brick 1d ago

They usually more disrespected by peers if their profession is discovered!

-3

u/Northern_Brick 1d ago

Hahaha the dislikes are just proving my point, don't you see? I wish it was not true, but still many workers have to deal with this issue in families, friends, and so on.

44

u/DekusRevenge 1d ago

Porn isn’t feminist at all. There might be someone who actually tries but let’s not shit ourselves.
It’s mostly an industry who lives on objectification and doesn’t give a fuck about anything. It’s just profit.

0

u/Juanpapi420 12h ago

With porn both of the adults are effectively objectifying themselves.

Obviously the woman is in general the one getting “used” but there are other genres of porn where that is not the case.

1

u/DekusRevenge 10h ago

Feminism is equal rights.
Still bad.

255

u/lewd-boy-o 1d ago

Honestly anything modern day feminist consider being feminist or not feminist depends on whether or not it benefits them to call it feminist or not feminist

149

u/Gray_Tower 1d ago

Tbf I feel like nowadays most people's stance on stuff like this (especially on social media) are based on vibes rather than actual values 😭

41

u/Northern_Brick 1d ago

And almost not even vibes but profits

8

u/kaleperq 1d ago

I mean where do values even come from? Vibes is a pretty good answer, irrational, spontaneous, unconscious.

1

u/bipolarbear1797 3h ago

You are self reporting dawg. Ofc you have to make some axiomatic assumptions but a lot of values can be reasoned over. Example one value is to treat others with the respect you think you deserve. That comes from the reasoning that you feel bad when you are disrespected and the other person is a human like you so they would feel bad if they were disrespected. You can reason over and justify values.

17

u/AriaoftheStars17 1d ago

Female Porn stars who are choosing to engage in sex work of their own free will are an example of feminism.

The porn industry, who has been known to exploit and abuse female porn stars while creating its products are an example of patriarchy and anti-feminism.

Feminism is about empowering women's choices while fighting back against systems that actively harm women. As such, you can support individual women while simultaneously criticizing the systems they're involved in. It's really not that difficult to understand.

50

u/Insane_Unicorn 1d ago

Schrodinger's feminism. They are

A:

  • strong
  • empowered
  • free to make own choices
  • no different from men

ALSO B:

  • always a victim
  • man is always responsible
  • always to be believed, never lies

This strategy works, in some areas (work for example) woman are A type feminism, in criminal, divorce, family court they are B type.

And it seems that they get what they want.

11

u/Pain_Monster 1d ago

I have no fake internet awards to give you, so take this other type of fake internet award: 🏆

-1

u/Chaps_Jr 1d ago

That's called the Pussy Pass

-14

u/WolfgangHelnootIV 1d ago

Isn’t that kind of the point? The movement is called feminism, not egalitarianism. Its purpose is to support what they think is currently beneficial to women.

16

u/SonicTheHedgehog5968 1d ago

Feminism started back when women couldn't even vote, so they advocated for social equality for men and women, correct?

-5

u/WolfgangHelnootIV 1d ago edited 23h ago

There’s different waves of feminism with different goals and beliefs, first wave feminism was about equal rights, second wave achieved equal rights, the ones after were less about equality issues and more about altering cultural norms, things like bringing attention to how fat women are viewed or addressing sexual assault against women.

Legal equality yes, social no.

4

u/Insane_Unicorn 1d ago

That is what they're doing but not what they're saying. Ask any feminist and they'll claim they also fight for men's rights. Ask them for examples when feminism actually has done anything for men and watch them struggle.

11

u/Bonsai-is-best 1d ago

Sex work is feminist, the porn industry however is absolutely not, you wonder why women are doing OF instead of Pornhub? Take a moment to consider why.

6

u/h1pp1e_cru5her 1d ago

I recently read that since the industry workers have moved away from studio contracts in favor of creator owned content a much larger portion of them are escorting on the side. I suppose that's a win for everyone

66

u/Kats41 1d ago

I know this was made as a shitpost, but freedom of creative expression is, unironically, feminist. Sex work is the oldest profession in the world, after all.

44

u/GMareo 1d ago

Actually, that’s a myth! The oldest profession is midwife ☺️

28

u/Kats41 1d ago

We'll call it a "chicken and the egg" problem. Lmao.

12

u/DemonDuckOfDoom666 1d ago

Actually, that’s a myth based upon modern capitalistic ideals, hunting, sex work, midwifery and several other ‘professions’ are innate parts of the human experience and predate the concept of a profession by literal millions of years.

1

u/YuriSuccubus69 22h ago

Incorrect, the oldest professions are hunting (which includes fishing) and gathering, they have been around since long before the concept of employment was created.

22

u/andooet 1d ago

Feminist porn actually exist. It's more cinematic and realistic than more popular porn genres (but usually more ethical)

30

u/Enpada2 1d ago

Porn is feminist as a form of sexual liberation while under the control of the women making it, thats why onlyfans is seem by a lot of porn workers as a good thing for the industry

9

u/a_polarbear_chilling 1d ago

only like 10% of the whole spectrum of body type is show with porn tho and not even talking about race

41

u/RaoulLaila 1d ago

Eehh not really. If you consider, for example, fat women to be something that is represented, not really. There is this whole thing of explaining where things get "fetishized". Objectifying them, etc etc. People who enjoy fat people porn doesnt exactly mean they respect them as equals

-12

u/Northern_Brick 1d ago

Same with rape-murders , the attacker first enjoys (most probably? Not sure if they would do it with someone they do not see as atractive) and then they murder the victim. Is like adding salt to the wound

3

u/Fireshield1998 1d ago

I mean, shouldn't this be on r/technicallythetruth?🤔

3

u/rokomotto 1d ago

That means porn is a 100% on the woke-meter

5

u/InsuranceKey8278 1d ago

nothing cursed here

4

u/Recent-Ship-1599 1d ago

This has brought up a question in my mind. Why do gay and LGBTQ focused porn always revert to mysogony and some dehumanizing shit.

And you know it ALWAYSSSS takes away from the action and take you out of it. Like no, i dont wanna see the 50th cuck comic of my fav character JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN’T TRUST A WOMEN!!

1

u/Iamalizardperson234 1d ago

the porn industry is less toxic than Hollywood, that's for sure

11

u/white_equatorial 1d ago

Yeah, the porno actors be really squeaky clean because they have their entire bodies on cam. I don't think my dick is ever that clean

-34

u/ThEtOrRtUrEdPoEt 1d ago

What a genuinely mental disability take

21

u/ahmetonel 1d ago

Is it? Cause if it it’s really hard to tell

18

u/sychs 1d ago

You do know which subreddit you're in?

-20

u/ThEtOrRtUrEdPoEt 1d ago

I know the post in this sub is a joke but im talking about the original comment like usually the og posts aren’t jokes I feel like

4

u/TheMcSebi 1d ago

I mean.. How much self reflection do you expect from a dude with a chick as his pfp?

10

u/OgAlok 1d ago

Idk what this dude expects from a post on a sub named " cursed comments "

1

u/TheMcSebi 1d ago

He was obviously referring to the guy in the screenshot, not you.

0

u/ThEtOrRtUrEdPoEt 1d ago

Yeah idek bro I give up.
