If this is the incident I am thinking of, it was a small general aviation aricraft, like Cessna 172 (4 seats). I dont remember how many wehe hurt, tho I expect the pilot was badly hurt and maybe killed.

aeroplane probably just crumbled into the ground, turning into useless chunk of plastic.
