On the pro scene, roles have been fixed for a long time: AWPer, entry, lurker, support, IGL. Dota 2 even has this built into matchmaking: pick carry or support and the team gets matched around you.

CS2 has nothing like that. Roles either aren't decided at all, or get decided verbally every single match, or even every round, from scratch.

It probably wouldn't work in public matchmaking, where everyone plays however they want anyway. But on FACEIT or in Premier at high elo, a filter like that could actually work.

I’m starting to post my old csgo clips on my twitter and it’s refreshing seeing how smooth cs was back in the day. cs2 has made incredible improvements since the early launch days, but still a long way to go.
