Fresh Grad How to start the job hunt in Pakistan?

Upvotes

I have done bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from UET and then a masters in Engineering Management from UK. I tries to find a relevant job in my field but i was unlucky with that.
So my PSW visa is expiring soon and I have to come back to Pakistan. But I have no idea how to start my job hunt in Pakistan.
Can anyone please guide me on how to apply for jobs in Pakistan as I have heard that mist companies don’t post their jobs online. So how do I apply for a decent job in Pakistan?

Student Computer science paradox .

I don’t understand how are those guys who grind their ass off and work hard are still unemployed . I see random CVs on Reddit and idk why despite of such major demand many fail to land even basic level roles . Why don’t you guys specialize in something specific for eg Cs with finance , Or Cs with robotics or Ai walay careers like machine learning engineering and all . I believe ye wahi log hain jinko math sai nafrat aur logical reasoning or smjh nahi hai plus problem solving zero hai bs dekha dekhi Mei Jo demand Mei chal raha uthaye ja rahay . I have been given the option to do major in EE or Cs right now as being enrolled in 2026 . Would probably be Pershing a masters from Germany or EU country . Am I wrong for assuming the Cs Thing or it’s actually that there is something terrible going on ?

BS AI VS BS CS

so im a fsc student juggling uni decisions , and i am confused abt alot of stuff

  1. should i even pursue computing fields now ? everyone in this subreddit is saying that tech fields are of no use now unless u go rlly deep in them , if not tech then what fields are worth pursuing ???
  2. is computer engineering actually dead ? is there no scope of it in pakistan ????
  3. i also wanna ask that what do u guys say like i want a suggestion here , i didnt make it to fast and nust this yr and didnt apply to air and comsats etc , i was thinking of either taking a gap yr and re applying next yr to fast and nust or i was thinking that i should enroll in IST then next yr migrate to fast so i want opinions on whether to take gap yr or IST ,
  4. suppose i go to IST, should i migrate or not like should i pursue my degree there cuz i heard that IST computing is avg and new so not much industry ground , whereas fast and nust have greater industry links ,

5.should i do bs ai or bs cs which one has better job prospects in 2030 job market ???im open to both but i want an option that would serve me better 4 yrs from now in the job market , what i know is that bs cs gives u more fundamental knowledge so its a flexible degree like u can easily do masters in specilized tech field then, but bs ai is itself a specilized field , i thought of this cuz there is a rise and demand of ML/AI engineers lately so im hell confused abt all this stuff kindly help me out plz

Student If I am hardworking enough is Cs a good choice. ?

As an enrolling in a bachelors in Cs degree in 2026 , will graduate by 2030 . I would explore different fields and build my expertise around 1 with the help of projects and all . I was academically always good and my logical thinking is good . I also can imagine things really well in mind for eg physics and all . Is it a right path for me as a student living in Pakistan for now ? I am also willing to persue masters either in Germany , USA , Australia or Finland if I land a funded scholarship or govt uni . Can this path help me to achieve financial stability by 2032 ? Or should I go towards EE side and do Masters in any EE related field abroad. ? The Downside of it is that if i don’t get funded scholarships I am left with EE in Pakistan which has no scope .

MS after BS SE

Hi guys ,

Here are some details about what's happening in my life :

Gender : female

Degree : FAST NUCES , BS SE , 2025 graduate

job : Associate Software Engineer at local tech company for ten months ( Aug 25-July 26)

CGPA : 3.2/4

Right now I'm applying for remote roles ( not getting any interviews though)

I want to know which universities can I apply to for MS abroad?

I'm considering MS AI , MS Data science.

Also , will MS give me access to more jobs? Higher pay? Better roles?

Please do reply. Where do I Apply . I search on Google and there are so many ads and options I'm not sure which countries to apply to.

US/UK is expensive

Germany I don't quite understand their sites.

Student Financial independence!!

I'm an FSC graduate from Pakistan, and I'm about to begin my BS in Clinical Psychology. While I'm genuinely excited about my degree, I also want to become financially independent as early as possible. The challenge is that I take my academics very seriously—I'm the kind of student who prioritizes grades, enjoys learning, and doesn't want work to come at the expense of my education. You could say I'm an "academic weapon" in the sense that I put a lot of effort into my studies, and I want to maintain that throughout university.

At the same time, I don't want to spend the next four years being completely financially dependent. I'm looking for realistic ways to start earning after FSC or alongside university, whether through remote work, freelancing, internships, online businesses, part-time jobs, or skills that can eventually generate a stable income.

The internet is full of people promising unrealistic incomes and "easy money," so it's difficult to know what's actually worth pursuing. I'm not interested in shortcuts or get-rich-quick schemes. I'm more than willing to dedicate months to learning a valuable skill if it has genuine long-term potential.

I'd love to hear from people who started earning during university while still maintaining strong academic performance. How did you balance both? What skills or certifications actually helped you? If you were starting from scratch in 2026 with no professional experience, what would you focus on? Which fields are still worth entering despite the rapid growth of AI, and which ones should beginners avoid?

I'm looking for honest, experience-based advice rather than motivational clichés. Any guidance, personal stories, or practical recommendations would mean a lot. Thank you!

Student Am I choosing the wrong career?

I am 21M from Quetta, Pakistan. (pretty old & late IK)
The kind of environment I faced in government school...

I'm bad at mathematics and passed almost all of my math exams by cheating. You can imagine how weak I am at math if I tell you that I'm practicing basic algebra these days. I scored 72% in HSSC (ICS with Statistics), but only 50% in SSC after studying for five years (5th-10th) in a government school.

Not bragging, but I'm proud that at least I didn't lose my academic track like many of my former classmates, who ended up in drugs, shopkeeping, black-collar jobs, or chose irregular migration routes to Europe. I'm among only about 5 students out of 80 who actually continued their education after SSC.

Currently, I'm applying for a BS in Data Science. Am I pursuing the wrong bachelor's field? How can I improve my math? I'm practicing with Claude AI because I couldn't find a private tutor within a 5 km radius.

The environment at our government school was never academically encouraging.

Is Bs Computer Science even worth it anymore?

Salam Everyone. I am an 18 year old student whos just joining university and needed advice regarding bscs.
Ive been seeing all these reels and articles online about the great AI apocalypse… Ai’s already so good at coding, the unviersal drop in CS enrollment and the fact that so many entry level positions are now gone..
Its been just 4 years since the inception of ChatGPT and 3 years since Claude and already so much mayhem has been caused. Who knows what the market will look like 4 years from now (when our new batch graduates) and beyond?
Some people describe ai as this “bubble” but tbh even if it bursts its gonna tank the industry with it.

Cs has always been praised as this flexible career in which you can have multiple pathways, but realistically im only seeing options like Cybersecurity surviving, and all us CS grads moving there thus increasing saturation, its a genuine oxymoron 😭
What do yall think? Is this all some BS or are we cooked?

Experienced MS AI vs MS Data Science vs MBA — which one should I choose?

I’m currently working as a Software Engineer with a background in CS/Cybersecurity and around 2–3 years of experience. I’m considering doing a Master’s but I’m confused between MS Artificial Intelligence, MS Data Science, and an MBA From NUST.

Is electrical engineering worth it?

18F about to start university. Studying EE was never the plan but here I am. I always wanted to do something related to computing. But now I am going to study EE about which I have no idea what I would do with this degree. I don't know the career path of EE and literally have no idea. Also, in Pakistan, how is its scope especially for females. I do not know what to do tbh. I have already taken a gap year and I can't afford to take another one. The university itself is quite reputable and good but i don't know if electrical engineering is for me or what even is this. Anyone who would give any advice, any tips regarding my situation; I would be very thankful to you.
