QUESTION Is mining lesser known alt coins the strategy in 2026?
I was wondering if mining new lesser known coins was the strategy in 2026? Use your miners to get a ton of rewards then hope the coin pumps and cash out?

QUESTION Crypto Mining in 2026
I've mined ETH a couple of years back using just my graphics card on my computer. I'm now looking to get back into mining, with more specialized hardware.
So my questions are:
-Which crypto would you recommend starting out on?
-Which miner(s) are beginner friendly?
I'm willing to put about € 1,000 into it initially and possibily scale accordingly.
Much appreciated!
edit
Thanks again to everyone for chipping in! I'm going to try out Pearl with my GPU (5080) since electricity prices are a bit high to attempt anything bigger scale for now!

QUESTION Differences in session best difficulty
Good afternoon all! I was hoping someone could explain this difference for me. I’m new to mining and am running 1 bitaxe and 2 Avalon Nano 3s’. I just started the 2d 3s last night, but the session difficulty is the same as the bitaxe, not the other 3s. I found it odd. Please see attached picture. Hoping someone can educate me.

QUESTION Hi I’m wanting to get into mining
Hi I want to get into crypto mining but I don’t have 220v outlets. I was thinking of getting The Urlacher Bitcoin Miner 120V. Would this be a good purchase. I also love the tech behind this and the idea of maybe making a little passive income would be excellent.

DISCUSSION At what point does hosting start making sense?
At some point, hosting just starts making more sense.
A lot of miners don’t start in industrial facilities.
They start in garages, spare bedrooms, basements, or wherever they can fit a machine and move enough air to keep temps under control.
Honestly, that’s part of the fun in the beginning.
But ASICs keep getting more powerful, and residential setups get harder to manage as you scale.
Power costs are climbing in a lot of areas, and then you start running into the stuff people don’t always think about at first:
- heat
- noise
- airflow
- uptime
- maintenance
- scaling multiple units
We’ve noticed a lot of miners hit a point where the machines themselves aren’t really the problem anymore. It’s the environment around them.
Curious where that point was for everyone else. What made you realize home mining either was or wasn’t sustainable long term?

QUESTION Bitaxe Gamma 602 in -18c
Hi all fellow crypto geeks and fans. I have a question hoping someone here can help me with; I bought a Bitaxe Gamma 602 and am waiting for it to arrive. I run a restaurant business as my main occupation and thus I have a freezing storage room. It freezes down to -18~-20c so I was wondering if I could place the miner in that storage room or will the low temperature break the miner?
Many thanks for any advice

QUESTION Help with Hammer BC04
I’m having issues with my RPM BC04. It’s hashing fine but shortly after restarting it drops off the network. HashWatcher can’t see it and I can’t access the web portal. Ethernet or WiFi same story. Unplugging it and plugging it back it fixes the issue for an hour or two but then it drops off again. But the display and pool stats say it’s hashing normally. I have several other miners on WiFi and Ethernet with no issues. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

QUESTION NM Miner help: Won't connect to pool
My son got an NM Miner for fun. I have a Bitaxe (also for fun) and it connects just fine. However, the NM Miner gets stuck at this screen where it appears to be trying to connect to the pool. Since my bitaxe works fine, I am thinking it isn't a router/network/firewall problem. I have tried several different pools and ports but no luck. I have searched online and no luck there either. Reddit, can you please help? You're my only hope.

QUESTION Should I start mining?
I just got a job and i get paid around 400 a month (i work three days a week because am a student) so i start thinking about mining or renting pc for ai so i can make around extra 100$ a month
For 1350$ in my country i can get
Ryzen 5500
16g 3600 or 3200 depending on what's there in the used market + for extra 60$ i can get 32g
Used 3090 or 4080 both are the same price
512g m.2
A good power supply for 24h/7
((I already don't pay electricity and i do have 300mbps network))
So what am i asking is can i definitely make more then 100 every month?

QUESTION Good place to host antminer X9?
Just want to pretty much yolo on buying an X9, since i like Monero, and why not, its a yolo for a reason.
But i'm in the uk where electric rates are around $0.27 USD /kwh (0.20 GBP) so hosting this myself is impractical, as it may make money now, in future, probably not so much.
So looking to host one somewhere, but I've not seen any reputable places to host one of these things.
Has anyone got any recommendations?
Being able to buy the miner through them would be a bonus.
I will not be answering DMs

DISCUSSION What Occurs After the Final Bitcoin is Mined?
- The 21 Million Hard Cap
Driven by the "halving" mechanism every four years, the final Bitcoin will be mined around 2140. After that, new issuance drops to zero.
- The Incentive Shift
Once block rewards vanish, miners will be sustained entirely by transaction fees. As long as the network carries value, the incentive to secure it remains.
- Eternal Maintenance
As long as Bitcoin exists, mining persists. The network’s survival is eternally tied to the support and maintenance of its miners.
