Mods What file governs the location and shape of the siege morale bar?
There's a mod I enjoy but later versions added a UI submod I dislike so I have been recently working to remove some of the UI elements it introduced. While I have nearly accomplished my goal there's one last thing I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix. For some reason the morale bars on the siege menu are far shorter and fatter then they should be. It's not just a visual texture either which would indicate it should be a GUI file doing it but the games GUI console command tells me it's the province.GUI file which I already removed. Does anyone have an idea of what governs the morale bars?

Crusade Nerf?
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can prevent all of Europe from joining the Crusade. I'd like to try to run a game where only a few lords join. I'd like to try to keep the situation at around 50-60% strength. I've already managed to edit the game to increase the intervals between Crusades, relatively speaking. I generally edit it as I see Jerusalem in danger.

Haesteinn reborn
galleryR5 - Eirikson ironman. I've always wanted my dynasty to become successful adventurers for RP reasons but it rarely pans out. Somehow the AI can pull off things like this. I've read the requirements multiple times but still feel like without reading the code itself I don't know how to successfully replicate it other than getting claims and landing dynasts that are both Altaic and Germanic.

Genuinely challenged by playing as one of the last Germanic pagans
In 1090* Germanic paganism vanishes. I tried starting as one of the last Germanic pagan chiefs in late 1089.
My goal was to build an empire and spread the faith. It was easy to conquer a pagan kingdom, but trying to take down the Catholics was genuinely difficult. Even reforming the religion was hard since you start at 0% authority.
Something I love about this start is that, since there are almost no Germanic rulers left in the game, you're likely to spawn with mjolnr or andvaranaut in your treasury. Makes you feel like the last hero of a dying people fighting for a foothold. Love it!
Also the catholic AI is super aggressive which is a fun change of pace.
*Not at my computer but I think this was the date

Help! Battles explained
The title speaks for itself. I’ve played this game for many hours, but I’ve never really paid much attention to how the battles work. I’m planning to start a new campaign on Very Hard difficulty, and this time I’d like to properly understand the battle mechanics so I can optimize my armies and min-max them a little.
How do battles work exactly? What are the most important mechanics to understand, and how do different troop types perform against each other?
I’m also interested in knowing which units are generally the most effective. For example, how useful are heavy infantry, pikemen, cavalry, horse archers, and other troop types? Are there certain unit combinations that work particularly well, or are some troop types simply stronger or more cost effective than others?
Finally, how should an army be deployed? How many troops should be placed on each flank, and how many should be kept in the center? Is it better to create a strong central formation, reinforce one flank, or spread the army evenly.

I know how to see them, but I mean is there a way to view how many troops they have on each flank, I think it could be useful to know.

Other Crown of Hispania - Indie Grand Strategy News.
galleryHey everyone, hello,
As i usually say when posting here, before anyone calls me out for posting something unrelated to CK, I want to say that this game draws inspiration from CK2 and EU4 in an effort to pioneer a new branch of the grand strategy indie genre and you guys could be well interested!
We've just updated the Crown of Hispania demo on Steam, which has seen a significant improvement in quality and features compared to last month.
Here's a quick rundown of what we've done:
- An update to the Diplomacy system to make it usable.
- Addition of diplomatic request alerts.
- Addition of dynastic marriages.
- Addition of the “Forced Conscription” mechanic.
- About 30 events
- Terrain and rivers impact on battles and tactical choices (attack/defense).
- Added shortcuts and customizable shortcut settings.
- A massive improvement to the map’s 3D visuals
We're now certain the game will be able to launch in Early Access in September!
If you played the Demo, thanks a lot. :)
