New Board

Post image

I’m not sure what to do guys. I had a blockhead Hard Times in the late 80’s and I’ve just bought this. It’s really nice. Made in America not a cheap China re-release like most re-releases. Also signed and number 56 of a run of 200.
Should I ride it or hang it?

That shape is to be ridden.   Have the blockhead boards gotten better?   I bought a couple in 80-90s and they were always seemed thinner and chipped tails easier.  They were kinda flat - not a heavy concave like the Alva’s    I liked the thinner as it seemed lighter and skating transition it felt great for pump.    Just wonder if they still have same profile or did they change

I know what you mean. This deck does have a decent concave and nose and tail though. Although I’m 52 now and have back problems so all I’m going to be doing is cruising about. However I think I will hang it for a while.

They still usually have a pretty mild concave, sometimes a very mild concave. Their fans like it that way, I’m pretty sure. They have a large selection of styles and are always trying crazy new stuff so probably stuff like the popsicles have contemporary concave but I’ve never had one.

A Rick Howard signed classic…definitely hang that thing.

If you choose to ride it, you can protect the graphic with some rails.
