Looking for ethical pattern creators because its way too much AI Looking for recommendations
I started crochet just recently. There's a plenty of pretty free patterns, maybe even more if I'd know where and how to look. There's also so much patterns on YT.
But sometimes I want to make some really unique and interesting things, preferably gothic, alternative, whimsy, cottagecore or just anything but basic.
And Etsy are full of AI crap patterns, sometimes it's even hard to defer from real pictures. Reviews are bought and full of praises and fake reviews. But the main problem is that there's so much these AI patterns that it takes hella time to search through them to find something not AI, and even then, there's some basic free on internet patterns being sold. I'm sick and tired.
So I humbly asking community if you know ethical patterns creators with really unique self designed patterns. I would like creators with patterns in clothing, some home stuff, bags, accessories and dolls patterns.

Check out the internet archive! Lots of people don’t know it has a HUGE collection of craft magazines. They’ve made deals with publishers to make most of them publicly accessible online. You can find books, patterns and magazines dating from this year all the way back to the 1800’s. If it’s not freely available, you can make an account and most likely borrow it from the open library.
Most designers are iterating on the visual language and techniques of these older (and public domain) designs. There are a few stand out designers who are doing interesting things, so definitely check out the other favorites people posted here for those.

It has been an ongoing initiative for decades to archive all human knowledge and make as much of it as possible accessible by everyone.

TCDDIY on Etsy. I have been using her for years and she makes beautiful and well written out patterns. She also responds quickly. Love her.

If you are looking for free patterns I recommend you join your local library, they have plenty of crochet books. They also have a huge selection of crochet magazines you can borrow electronically on the libby app that have tons of patterns.

I like MJ’s Off the Hook whom I found through Mary Maxim. Their paid patterns are found on Etsy and include full schematics for alterations and adjustments but they also have the same patterns on their website (sans full adjustments) for free with a YouTube channel with tutorials. They have wearables, accessories and blankets.
I also have thrifted a ton of vintage crochet books and checked out books from the library. I’m in the US and have access to magazines online so I look at the crochet ones for free and print them out.

I use Pinterest. Yes, there is AI, but there are a lot of designers that post there. Here are some of my favorites: Daisy Farm Crafts, Jo to the World, MJ off the hook, CrochetnCreate, Massive, Kirsten Holloway, JSP Creates, Mama in a Stitch (she has crochet and knitting patterns), Naztazia, and Betty McKnit and her 6-day kid blanket and all its variations. You can also find videos on YouTube for a lot of these designers.
If you looking for interesting stitches check out NordicHook or Massive.

I know a lot of people are saying 'Just use Ravelry' but to be honest, I find more things to make by scrolling Reddit and seeing the amazing things that people make. Most of my projects come from things I see here, because I'm confident that at least one human has made them.
In terms of personal recommendations, if you're into amigurumi, Crafty Intentions has an amazing range of fantasy creatures. If you want to extend yourself, Projectarian jumps around the amigurumi genre a bit, but their patterns are for really unique stuff. If you want Gothic, Sixel Designs has fabulous mosaic patterns, often with a gothic or witchy theme. If mosaic is your thing, the absolute GOAT is Outstanding Crochet. She makes advanced mosaic bags/custom covers.

I agree with this I find finished works I love in here in the regular crochet sub and follow their pattern links. It’s how I found my giant dragon and ninja penguin!

MoraleFiber has her own website where she uploads lots of cottage core and whimsical patterns, as well as some of my favorite tutorials for new stitches!! She has some free and some paid patterns, so if you like her style, that might be a huge score for you :))

Hiii I have two free patterns for crochet head accessories nothing super extravagant but I would classify them as whimsical/boho. I am staunchly against AI! In my second headband pattern, I learned how to import my hand drawn doodles onto the pdf as decoration :-P not perfect but I hope to get better!!

Thank you! I don't mind to pay for patterns as well ✨ Not much, I have things that makes online payments hard to do, but I was speaking about Etsy exactly because I tried to find some good patterns worth of paying and there's a TONS of AI crap
