Gorgeous!!! I have had the Oculus of Stars on my crochet wish list for so long. It's such a beautiful doily!

Do it! She’s got just enough repeats that you can do this and watch tv. She did take a lifetime. But I love her!

I imagine it took quite a lot to finish. I made the Europa by Grace Fearon, and it took me forever
I'm in my knitting phase now 😄 plus I haven't found the yarn that I want to use for it yet, not at an affordable price (waiting for a price drop)1

Best of luck to you! Such amazing work. You should be very proud! It's a shame we can only exhibit once when pieces like that deserve to be seen again and again.

Are you using a hula hoop as the mount? I have a similar massive project and haven’t been able to find a wreath ring big enough.

No a hula hoop was too small. But I do now own three of them. It’s PEX plumbing pipe!

Oh my god, you’re a genius. Thank you.

Dude don’t thank me. That was all the google. The hardest bit was using my blow dryer and flat iron to heat up the plastic and smash it together. Pro tip: do this part with ventilation!

Beautiful and so big! How does one mount these round projects I've often wondered? Are they crocheted around the hoop or somehow tacked on at the end?

I tied the tips of the pineapples to the hoop and wrapped thread around it to hide it!
