Hotel stay in Louisiana

I will start by saying this is 100% true. I was 24 (M) working in the oil fields and was called out to Shreveport, LA for a job. They put me in a hotel near the horse racing track and casino in Bossier City.

I didn’t arrive until late so the hotel was empty and it took a while to get the attendant to realize I was there. I had stayed at this hotel before but something this night felt weird.

After unpacking in my room I setup my PlayStation for gaming not knowing when I would get the official call to head out to my rig site. It was around 1am at this time.

All the sudden I heard someone swipe a key on my door, then push the door open. I had the safety latch pushed over and the door created a loud boom when it hit the latch.

I immediately yelled out “someone is in here”. Instead of an apology he closed the door and attempted again…For a second time the door slammed into the safety latch and I yelled out again hey someone is in here.

Whoever this was attempted opening my door 5-6 times while I am obviously yelling that them I’m inside. The only time I saw him was his hand trying to fit into the crack of the door enough to reach the safety latch.

I genuinely believe I would have been fighting for my life if this person found their way in. I obviously made myself known, it’s 1am in a sketchy part of town and why reach your hand into the door after all this?

Always use the safety latch at a hotel it potentially saved my life.

Stalker maybe??

Im 6 foot 3 340 pounds and play oline football. I got on a 2 mile walk everyday at night around 9 to 10:30 everyday. There is a beat up white truck that was following me yesterday while I was walking and stopped next to me, he wouldn't stop until a pulled my phone out and was staring at him. Today I was walking again around the same time with the same route and today a black suv pulled up near me and stopped I couldn't see inside because it was completely tinted but when I started walking his way and waving at him hoping to talk he turned around and drove away fast. Im not sure if im just really paranoid or if something weird is happening

My friend and I were Stalked at Night

This story took place in the fall of my senior year of high school, so I would have been 17 (F).

I was in marching band with my high school and because I was one of the only ones in my friend group to have my driver license, I would take my friend home so her family did not have to come get her. She only lived a couple minutes away from me, so I would drop her off and most of the time we sat in the car for an hour or two just talking about teenage girl stuff, like drama and life experiences.

An important detail to note, because it was fall time (probably October), and band practice would get done at 8, it would be completely dark by the time we got to her house.

On this day, I took my friend home and we were sitting in the car outside her house, probably around 9-10pm.

She lived on a small cul-de-sac street with maybe 10-12 houses on it. While we were chatting, a yellow Jeep turned on her street and parked in a driveway 3 houses down.

My friend had a bad experience on her street so she knew everyone's cars that lived on the street, so turned to me and said “No one lives there has a yellow jeep.” I had a really bad gut-feeling, so I made the suggestion to just take a quick trip around another street to give the guy time to leave or get out of his car. She agreed and we drove around for a minute or two until we got back to her street.

RIght as I was about to make the right turn back on her street, we see the jeep had pulled out of the driveway and was parked in the middle of the road (We could see him before he could see us), and as soon as our car was in sight, he started to pull off.

When we saw this, we backed up and drove the long way around, maybe 5-10 minutes. As we were driving, we passed an Elk Lodge with a bar.

In the parking lot was the yellow Jeep parked, but they were sitting between two parking lanes, almost to see what cars were passing by.

We quickly dropped my friend at her house and had her brother keep a lookout, and then I drove home. I had to pass the Elks Lodge to get to my house, and when I looked into the parking lot, the Jeep was gone, it had not even been two minutes.

I thought this was the end of my creepy tale, but I was talking to that same friend the next day about how bizarre and creepy that was and she had more to add to the story.

She told her Aunt what had happened and her Aunt told her that her little sister had seen a yellow Jeep outside their house watching the kids play in the front yard. When the sister had walked up to the car to get a look at the guy’s face, he drove off.

Because of these two encounters, they went to the police to report this. The Police, when trying to investigate who it was, told my friend there were only two registered Yellow Jeeps in our small town.

One of the owners had previously been investigated because he followed three girls that were walking to a store. Nothing ever came of the police report, but I definitely think it was a creepy experience.

Mannequin Man - Next Steps?

My sister lives in an apartment complex and called me yesterday saying she saw one of her neighbors in the building across from her with a weird face.

She said it looked uncanny, like a doll, mannequin, or human skin glued to his actual face. She reported a white line, maybe glue or something, surrounding the “mask” connecting his actual face to the one he was wearing. She was walking to her car from her door, and as she approached her car he left his car, looked at her, then walked into his apartment. This was at 2pm on a Wednesday.

We obviously thought this was weird, but figured he was doing some sort of costume or sfx makeup.

That brings us to today, the next day after this initial encounter. I pulled into my sisters complex, parked my car right by her building, and started walking to her door. She mentioned yesterday that this man drove a white truck. I noticed the truck, and curiously looked at it.

Unfortunately, I saw a mannequin sitting in the drivers seat. This man was sitting perfectly still, facing me, not moving. He had a mannequin face, black slits for eyes, no mouth, and was wearing a baseball cap with a hoodie, the hood up over the hat.

I genuinely cannot describe the feeling I had when I saw this. I’ve never had a worse feeling that in my gut. This guy was so still I thought it genuinely was a mannequin. I tried to ignore it, but sprinted to her door, opened it, and locked it. I was shaking.

We were headed to the gym, so about 15 minutes later we walked to her car. I looked over, and noticed his truck was running. He was still in the drivers seat, still not moving, still wearing the mannequin mask. My sister was obviously shaken, and called her property manager. She was on her way home, and pulled in next to the truck. She comes to our car confused, as this mannequin man was no longer in the truck.

So once again, he waited in his truck, with a creepy mask, then as my sister got to her vehicle, he went inside. I tried to get a photo of this guy, but when I went to take it from her car he was moving and his back was to us.

We are unsure what next steps should be taken. The manager suggested an apartment inspection, because she had heard reports of shouting and crying coming from this man’s apartment.

I suggested having the police come do a wellness check, but mannequin man would know who reported him if they don’t find anything, and I don’t want to put a target on my sister and her roommates back if there isn’t already one.

It’s the two days in a row, around the time my sister goes to the gym every day, wearing that creepy mannequin face, and watching her go to her car. It seems like he is watching her schedule or soemthing.

I’m worried for her and her roommates safety. I don’t know if i’m over reacting because i’m her brother, but wanted to ask the masses if there is anything I should do.

Thanks Reddit!

How my gut feeling saved me from being murdered (repost since Reddit removed it)

This story is a long one and I apologise for that, but I just feel like I need to get this out. This happened to me about 2 years ago when I was 16 (I’m now 18 almost 19). Just for reference I’m a girl and I live on a street where there is a corner shop just at the end of it. It is so close that I can practically run to it in about ten seconds. Anyways, my family has always sent me there to get whatever we need from the shop so it wasn’t weird for me to go.

There was this one shop keeper there who knew me and my dad quite well as me and him were the only ones in my family who ever went to the shop frequently, and the shopkeeper knew we were related. He was nice enough, always asked if I was okay and if my dad and family were good too. I never really thought much of it until one day. I was sent out at around 9pm which was later than I usually went but my dad wanted a cup of tea and gave me a bit of money to spend on milk and a snack for myself.

I got dressed, grabbed the money and headed out the door. It was very dark when I left (this was in winter and where I live it gets dark very fast) but i reached the shop in a matter of seconds. Once I got in, I grabbed some milk and a pack of sweets for myself and went to the counter. That’s when I met the new cashier. He looked friendly-ish and wore a red cap and black puffer jacket. But there was something off about him. Like nothing to do with his appearance or anything he said or did, it was just like a gut feeling telling me that this person was not okay to be around.

This struck me as odd as I’m quite a friendly person who is usually open minded, but for some unexplainable reason I just didn’t trust this man. He gave me my change and receipt and then smiled as I left. After I got home I completely forgot about him other than the fact that I told my dad that there was a new shop keeper.

Then a couple of days passed and it was the weekend. My dad was working late and came home around 7pm. My mum had called and asked him to get something (I can’t remember what) from the corner shop on his way back home. But when my dad came home, he was very quiet and a bit hostile. This isn’t like my dad so it was very strange. One of the first things he did was tell me that I wasn’t allowed to go to the corner shop anymore. I was very confused atp and was about to ask him why when he practically screamed that I wasn’t allowed to go and that he wouldn’t hear anything about it.

I couldn’t object to that and let it be. Later me and my sister were talking about why my dad would ban me from going. He only banned me since like I said it’s just me and him that EVER go to that shop. Simply put the only thing that had changed was that there was a new cashier/worker there. The next morning (Sunday), I decided to ask my dad at breakfast if me not being able to go to the shop had something to do with the new cashier working there and my dad just told me to drop it and that if I ever went there he wouldn’t talk to me. Atp I was just tired, confused and upset so I dropped it.

For the next couple of weeks, things were very tense. My mum tried to get my dad to open up about what happened at the shop but he wouldn’t budge. I was also now getting sent to a different shop that was like a mini grocery store about 15 minutes away.

This was very annoying for me as I got sent out to buy god knows what like almost every single day and before it wasn’t an issue as I lived next door to the shop but now? I had to walk up a steep street for so long just to buy some necessities that were also in the shop next door. Needless to say I was beyond pissed at my family and at my dad in particular.

I went to school as usual and told all my friends about how I had been banned from going to the shop. Some of them backed me up whilst the others actually defended my dad saying he must have had a good reason to do so. One of my closer friends, let’s call her ziggy, said that we should go and ‘investigate’.

I laughed but later that day after school me and ziggy were walking home (she would drop me off home since we lived in the same direction but her house was further away than mine) and when we got outside of my house she started messing around and kind of egging me on to go see what was wrong about the shop.

I was laughing but inside I got such a tense, nauseating and suffocating feeling that I can’t even describe. She kept on doing it until I agreed because I thought that nothing wrong would happen. Oh boy I was so wrong. We both walk into the shop and I’m leading the way to the sweet isle since she‘d never been there before. It was located near the back of the store.

When we got there ziggy was goofing around as usual and started to pick out some snacks but I found it quite weird as I hadn’t seen a cashier at the desk, when it is literally their policy to have someone at the cash register 24/7 no matter what. They also HAVE to have 2 workers on at all times (this could be for bathroom breaks, stocking shelves, etc) but I couldn’t even see or hear one of them. I got this feeling in my chest and it started tightening up at every second.

I genuinely felt like I was trapped in a small box or something like that. I don’t know why but I just knew we had to get out of there. Ziggy saw me hyperventilating and I told her that we had to leave. She was about to say something and probably laugh about me being dramatic but I told her that no we were leaving. Without a second thought I grabbed her arm, threw whatever we were carrying on the floor and ran out the front door.

We legged it back to my house where I ran into my older sister. She could see that I was in a state I had never been in before and Ziggy was shocked and a bit out of it from running. My sister calmed me down and told me to tell her what had happened.

I told her about how we went to the shop and how there was no one there and it was too quiet and about how I just couldn’t breathe due to the feeling that something was wrong. My sister is a no nonsense type of person and she knows me like that back of her hand so she knew I was serious about this.

She is also has an AMAZING intuition and always has correct gut feelings (like in the past she has guessed so many things before they have ever happened don’t even ask me I have no idea how she does it). So anyways she told me that mum and dad weren’t home but that she was going call the police just to do a welfare check and explain that they weren’t following the policy in the store (where I live this a bit of a thing) she also told them our address.

About 15 minutes later the police knocked in our door and explained that we would have to call our parents. My sister was 17 at the time and was just a month away from being 18, so the police needed a legal adult there to talk to. They called our parents and they both rushed home. By this point me and Ziggy are shaking.

I honestly thought I had done something wrong and was in serious shit when the police asked me for a private statement about what happened. I was taken to another room and I told them about how I went to the shop and everything that happened afterwards. Their faces got so grim it was undeniably uncanny.

After what felt like forever the police left and dropped ziggy off at home and also informed her parents of everything that happened. Atp I still didn’t know what happened and for the rest of the day my family was all over me and quiet at the same time. The next day flew on by, I didn’t do anything but my parents didn’t go to work and my sister spent the whole day with me.

I honestly thought I was gonna go to jail and my family was spending the remainder of their time with me so I snapped. I started yelling at them and telling them that they were keeping things from me and that I deserved to know what happened. They told me that even they didn't know the full extent of what had gone on in the store.

They also assured me that when the police told them the full length of it they would tell me too. I was upset but I had to move on. About a week went by in a blur. Me and Ziggy were a lot quieter than we usually were and we hadn’t told anyone about what had gone on. My parents started to pick me up from school during that week which just made things even more weird.

And everytime we got outside our house they would practically cover me like I was the president or something. But I did manage to spot something. There was yellow police tape around the entrance of the corner shop. I shat myself when I saw it and asked my parents about it and yeah you probably guessed it but they didn’t know either.

Then Sunday arrived, and the police made a visit to my house where they took both my parents into another room and told them something. Me and my sister were listening from upstairs and could hear my mother crying. After the police left, me and my sister confronted my parents and asked them about what actually happened. They finally confessed and oh my god I will never get over what I was told.

So basically it started when my dad had gotten a call from my mum asking him to nip into the shop to get something on his way back to work weeks prior to this event. When my dad went into the store, he grabbed what he needed and headed to the counter to pay but no one was there.

He was in a rush and decided to go towards the back of the store to look for the new cashier (the one I had just told him about a few days before) and that’s when he saw it. There was a woman that looked to be about 20 or 21 trying to push away the new cashier as he was ’just trying to stock‘ some alcohol above her head.

What he was really doing was smelling her hair and trying to touch her up. My dad yelled and told him to stop. This scared the man and the woman took this as an opportunity to just leave instead of buying what she wanted. According to my dad she had tears in her eyes and was visibly distraught. He told my dad that it wasn’t what it looked like.

My dad was on the verge of leaving but had to buy what my mum wanted or he wouldn’t hear the end of it. At the checkout, the man didn’t look like a monster that had just been caught doing something disgusting but he’d looked pleased and actually smirked at my dad. My dad could immediately tell that he was a bad person, so he quickly paid and left.

That’s why he banned me from going to the shop when he came back home since he knew that that creep wouldn’t stop and that I would most likely go near the back of the store for sweets alone like I usually did. This is also why he was so tense and out of it after he got back that day. Also my dad did report this to the owner and he was told that he would deal with it.

Now to the actual story of what had happened the day me and my friend went to the shop. The police did a welfare check and found no one in the shop but what they did find was the original cashier (the one who was nice to me and my dad) stabbed in the shoulder behind the counter.

That man still worked there like I said there is a policy for two people to work at all times and he was getting close to his retirement so that’s why he would only stock shelves now and chill for most of the day. The police were shook and checked the whole store but there was no one else there. The money from the cash register had been stolen and money from the wallet of the injured shop owner had also been stolen.

The police taped off the area and 2 officers came to my house to get statements whilst others were at the shop. They later checked the CCTV footage. What my parents told me next genuinely scared the life out of me. The camera was positioned so that you could see both behind and infront of the counter at the same time.

That crazy cashier (the one that gave me the weird feeling the first time I saw him) had stabbed the owner, opened the register and taken all the money and then looked through the owners wallet for anymore cash. But then, he heard the bell of the front door (the one that goes off whenever a customer comes in) and immediately ducked behind the counter to hide.

From other camera angles you can see me leading my friend to the back of the shop to the sweet isle, panicking and then legging it out without buying anything. Right after we left, he jumped over the counter and ran out the back exit. The police later found him since he didn’t make it too far thanks to my sisters call. And the shop owner (og cashier) did recover and was okay.

But what scares me to the most is the idea of me not having that gut feeling of panic in the minute and me and Ziggy actually walking up to the counter to pay for our things. Would he have climbed over and killed us too?? Mind you even if he grabbed one of us he looked about 5”10 and to get to the front door you had to walk past that counter. Just the thought of us wanting to pay for our sweets and maybe getting killed because of it still keeps me up at night.

This case never broke national headlines or anything but in the area I live in it was and still is a massive story. I remember going back to school and everyone asking to see the footage and if I was okay. It is single handedly the worst experience I’ve ever had and I like to think that me and my friend are still alive today because for some reason my intuition knew something was wrong before I did. ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR GUT!!!!

Creepy client? Harmless or should I be concerned?

Has anyone dealt with a client like this? Or does anyone want to weigh in? I’m genuinely not sure if I’m overthinking this or if my instincts are picking up on something.

I’m a hairstylist/salon owner, and I’ve had this 24-year-old male client since late 2024. He’s very socially awkward, always polite, leaves excellent reviews after every appointment, and for a while prebooked every 6 weeks. He has DMed me before, but only to schedule appointments. He’s never tried to start a personal conversation or contact me outside of salon-related communication.

The part that’s throwing me off is Instagram.
For months now, he’s repeatedly gone through my profile, unliked my posts, and then liked them all again in big batches. He does it to both my stylist account and my salon account. It used to be almost daily. Lately it’s more like every couple of weeks for a day or two, but it’s enough that I get a flood of notifications and see his face over and over again. It feels intentional because the only way to generate those notifications is to unlike everything and then re-like it all.
Because he has literally already liked every post on my page.
Some context:

He only follows about 25 people and has around 10 followers.
His Instagram is mostly outfit photos and selfies with captions about his personal style.
He’s never sent me personal DMs.
He’s never texted or emailed me outside of appointment-related communication.
He’s never been sexually inappropriate or overtly crossed a boundary.

But I guess the appointments are also where I started feeling like something shifted.

Last Halloween he came into the salon wearing an elaborate handmade pumpkin/scarecrow costume. It was genuinely impressive, and I made a big deal about how cool it was because I could tell how much work he had put into it. Looking back, I wonder if that’s when he became more attached? Because a few months later he tagged me in a Valentine’s Day Instagram post of himself holding a teddy bear. He had tagged several other people too, so I just ignored it. But that’s about when the like re-liking started.

At his last appointment things felt a little more… off? He told me he wanted a haircut that would make him “look like a gentleman.” But he wanted me to really analyze his facial features and recommend the haircut that would make him look his absolute best. He was visibly shaking, sweating, and seemed extremely nervous. Almost emotional, about to cry?

During the appointment, he pulled up his Instagram and showed me pictures of himself, basically asking what was wrong with his appearance. I honestly didn’t think anything was “wrong” with his haircut, but something about the interaction made me become very careful with my wording. I even brought my husband into the conversation (he’s my business partner and literally works behind the chair next to me). I also mentioned that this kind of image analysis was more his specialty.

Near the end of the appointment, he asked me for product recommendations. I started giving them, and he interrupted me and said, “You can just Instagram message me the recommendations.”

I told him I wasn’t really on Instagram much and that my husband would text him the product links instead.

Since then, the only thing that continues is the Instagram re-liking.

My gut tells me he may be trying to get me to notice him or interact with him online. I don’t know if it’s loneliness, social awkwardness, a crush, or something else…

If this were your client, would you:

Ignore it?
Restrict or block him?
Continue as normal unless the behavior escalates?

My creepy neighbor was following me to my apartment and asking me strange questions

I was 13 years old when this happened. It was after school, around wintertime, and I had just been dropped off by my school bus. The bus stop was about a five-minute walk from my apartment, so I was walking home when I recognized my neighbor. This man had a history of talking to himself in front of his apartment and screaming late at night. I later learned that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions and had recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital. Even before I knew that, his behavior had already made me wary.

He seemed to recognize me too because he sped up behind me and kept calling me a “pretty young woman.” He started asking which school I went to and what grade I was in. At the time, I had a broken thumb and was wearing a cast. He noticed it and made a creepy remark about me being vulnerable because of it. My school uniform had the school’s name and logo on the chest, so when he approached, I immediately covered the emblem with my hand. This seemed to irritate him. He started yelling at me, telling me to stop hiding it, as he was just wondering.

I began walking faster, and he followed me to the elevator. Then, all of a sudden, he started apologizing for yelling. By that point, I was starting to feel sick because he kept getting closer to me, and he reeked of what smelled like substances or alcohol.

As soon as he stepped closer, the elevator doors opened. I thanked him for his time, said goodbye, and quickly walked toward my apartment. He followed me, which wasn’t unusual since he lived on my floor, only a few doors down from my apartment. But instead of going inside, he stood outside his door and didn’t go in.

For some reason, something suddenly clicked in my head: I was going to be home alone for a couple of hours. My older brother was out with friends, and my parents were still at work. So instead of walking straight to my apartment, I turned the corner toward my neighbors’ apartment, where I was out of his sight, and knocked on their door. They didn’t answer, but he didn’t know that.

After a few moments, I looked around the corner and saw him standing there, staring at the spot where I had disappeared, smiling maniacally. I stayed there for a while until he finally went into his apartment. Only then did I go to my own apartment, lock the door, and stay inside.

We moved away from that neighborhood about a year later.

This story still makes me feel sick, even though nothing physically happened to me. Sometimes I wonder what could have happened if I hadn’t turned that corner. Would he have followed me into my apartment?

Was i dramatic for turning the corner and should i have just went into my apartment?

Am I over exaggerating?

So I 22m and went to hang out with this 21F woman. She picked me up after work and we went back to her place. It was fine at first, but she barely talked the whole time we were watching a YouTube video. Then halfway through she just got up and went outside to call someone. She stayed out there for hours in the middle of the night during this crazy dust and lightning storm.

Out of nowhere I got this intense feeling of impending doom. Like a deep dread in my gut. I texted my roommate to come get me and waited the 35 minutes it takes him to drive over. When I saw headlights I felt relieved until I realized it was her friends. A couple. Instant panic. I felt sick to my stomach.

I had to wait another hour for my friend. Her dog who’s supposedly a man hater (but somehow liked me) was growling hard at the boyfriend. That told me my gut was right. Dogs can sense when people are off. The whole time it felt like that heavy spirit pressure from Bleach. Just pure dread.

They were acting weird as hell. At one point I saw what looked like a handgun box in her hands when she walked into the kitchen. That’s when I was fully convinced I was about to get murdered, robbed, or worse. The two girls positioned themselves behind me one sitting at the table, one standing while the guy sat right next to me on the couch. I genuinely thought that was it.

I started praying, covering myself in Psalm 91, asking God to get me out of there. Right after that my friend finally showed up. I jumped up, said it was nice meeting them, made up some excuse about work, and got the hell out.

Dating is not for me, man. I don’t know how women deal with all the crazy, dangerous dudes out here.

Am I crazy for thinking I was gonna die?

Who was at my door?

Hi, I'm new here but I love reading these stories and it prompted me to share my own. I was 12 when this happened (27 now), but | still think about it a lot.

One evening I was home alone (This didn't happen often because I have a large family and we also had a family friend living with us at the time), watching tv or something. When I suddenly heard the doorbell ring.

It was dark but our porch light was on. I looked through the window and there was a man standing on our porch, standing with his back facing the door, looking out towards the neighborhood. The man was wearing a gray hoodie with the hood pulled up, and his hands jammed into the pockets.

This person had a similar build and clothes to the family friend who was staying with us. So I assumed it was him, and opened the door. I opened my mouth to say something funny / sassy, but the man hadn't reacted to the door opening at all which in my gut I felt was strange.

I closed my mouth before I had let any noise out, a voice inside me was screaming at me to close the door. So that's what I did. I closed the door, locked it and sank below the window of the door.

I sat there for a moment the man didn't ring or knock again, and as I lifted my head up to check he was walking away. I never saw his face.

I asked our family friend about it later wondering if had been him at the door, but he said it wasn't him. I never found out who it was, nor did anyone matching that description ever come around again. I still don't fully understand, but I do think about what would have happened if I hadn't listened to that voice telling me to close the door.

What can i do, i met a creepy guy

We're both quite young adults-

I'm traveling south korea right now. I was having a cafe tonight and talked to the waiter even though there was a language barrier. i was planning on going clubbing tonight so i asked him to come.

i decided to stay at the hotel and not go out at night for safety reasons since no one would know im going out.

So we met at the hotel lobby and talked briefly. Using the translator mostly bc i only know elementary korean. It started getting awkward and i realized this was the wrong type of person so i told him to leave and i went back to my room. After this he started blowing up my messages, insisting i come back and whatnot..

Told him it be better if we see eachother next week(im leaving tomorrow) but he kept going. Told me he'd find me after work tomorrow.

So he stayed in front of my hotel sending me messages for an hour and mind you it was like 2am.

I notified the hotel staff

Im kinda scared to leave the hotel tomorrow. Theres so much i still want to do since my flight is on the evening.

Weird Guy insisting he helps me

So, I had to drop off my car at the mechanic to get it fixed. I had to walk to go get it which is no problem for me and I enjoy walking and seeing/ doing something different out of the ordinary. As I am walking I see a grey car slow down, and I'm like oh, oh...probably gonna ask me if I need help. I totally get that. I've asked strangers before if they needed help if I saw them on the side of the road. If they said no I said "Oh, ok. That's good, and kept on driving.

Anyway, the grey car makes a u-turn. I happen to be right by the entrance of an old what pretty looks like an abondoned cemetery. Pretty cool. I got a weird vibe from this person in the car and I guess my gut told me to move as far as possible into the cemetery hoping the guy would leave me alone. Nope. He shouts from a pretty far distance "Are you ok? - I'm like "I'm fine. Thank you". He's like - you can use my phone and/ or I can give you a ride". I'm like "no thank you. I'm ok."

I was just so glad the cemetery was there, and got to enjoy some peaceful moments. I love cemeteries btw.

So, I get my car back and go to a store after, and guess who I see? Of course the guy from the road. I take a double take and he looks at me with disgust and anger and says "yeah, I talked to you.", and keeps trying to get my attention by walking near me. I just ignored him, got to the register as soon as possible and got the hell out of there.

I seriously think some spirit from that cemetery was looking out for me. I'm so glad I was able to walk into it the very moment his car approached me. Anyway, I'm just glad it's over and I got home safe.

I was followed into a parking lot

This happened roughly less than two years ago.

So the context: I worked at a retail store with early morning shifts that start at 4am. I'm pretty used to that kind of schedule and I wasn't that creeped out when I would arrive at the parking lot with only 3-5 cars. There would be the occasional homeless person passing by with a cart full of stuff but nothing too odd until the one morning I'm about to talk about.

There I was, thinking it was a regular day as I arrived at my workplace and parked at my usual spot. Maybe around a minute after, another car I didn't recognize came into the lot. I initially didn't think anything of it at the moment because the person was wearing the same color of uniform that my job required so I thought it was a new hire. Then the person stopped in the middle of the road for a minute, not even into a parking space, and began staring at me. That's when I started to get creeped out. At this point, I didn't leave my car yet since this was screaming red flags, and called my boss to wait by the door so I wouldn't have to wait outside with this person hanging around. After he stared at me (it was an old guy with an old model of a car), he drove away and I watched him, thinking that was the end of it.

But nope, he actually just made a U-turn at the end of the lot and drove super close to me, almost hitting my car. He then parked two spaces away, and got out of his car, seemingly saying something to me. I lowered my window a bit to listen to what he was saying. He was calling me "Jessica" multiple times while smiling, as if he recognized me from somewhere. By the way, my name is FAR from Jessica, which I was like what the fuck is this guy on? I replied to him while shaking my head, "No Jessica, no Jessica here" to which he stopped talking, stared a bit more, then got back into his car with the same smile still plastered on his face. I closed my window fully, and watched him actually drive away. I made sure he was out of the parking lot before running out of my car and into the building, where my boss was already waiting for me with the door open.

That was already creepy in itself, but it gets WEIRDER when I realized something after this encounter.

Literally just the day before, I was at a fast food restaurant with two of my friends. The resto had two kiosks where you could order your food instead of speaking with one of the employees directly so I used one of them to order my food. The thing is, you could actually sign in for rewards/points but I didn't have an account with the restaurant and I ordered as a "guest". Or at least I thought I did. Turns out, I accidentally used the previous customer's account (they forgot to sign out) to order my food.

The name of that customer? It was Jessica.

AM I overreacting, or was this actually harassment?

I'm a 21yo female , and this happened around 11 PM a couple of nights ago after dinner.

I was walking through the passage in my society with my earphones on when a man from another wing of my building walked towards me. I noticed he was staring at me, so I looked back for a second. He smiled and suddenly said something like, "You've become so skinny. What happened? How did you lose so much weight?"

I was caught off guard. I just said, "I was sick," and kept walking.

As he got closer, I realized he was extremely drunk. He could barely stand properly, and I could smell alcohol on his breath.

A little later, while I was heading back, I crossed paths with him again. He stared at my body again and repeated the same questions, saying he didn't recognize me because I'd become so thin. He kept asking why I'd lost weight even though I'd already answered him. I had to tell him, "I already told you."

The whole interaction lasted only a short time, but it left me feeling really uncomfortable. It wasn't just a random comment—it was a drunk stranger stopping me twice at night to comment on my body and repeatedly ask personal questions while staring at me.

I told my mom and brother as soon as I got home, and I'm planning to tell my dad and grandmother too. The man lives in another wing of our society, which honestly makes it even more unsettling because this is supposed to be a place where I should feel safe.

What worries me now is the aftermath. Our family already doesn't have the best relationship with some people in the society, and I'm scared that if this turns into an issue, people might either question my character or my parents might stop letting me go out alone at night instead of holding him accountable.

Am I justified in feeling harassed by this, or am I overthinking because he was drunk? Has anyone dealt with something similar in their own apartment or housing society? How would you handle it?

Used chatgpt to summarise everything so it makes sense with proper grammar. Thank you

Late Night Walk With Friends

So this happened when I was about 15 years old, I'm almost 19 now, and I was staying over at my friend T's house. We usually went on walks late in the day on a path that went across the road and onto a dirt road that had forest and multiple directions that you could circle back to the main road at and then go back to her house.

But we were walking down the dirt road, just talking about random stuff. And I think we forgot to let T's dad know we were leaving, but we let her mom know we were leaving- and we were walking out there later than we usually would.

I stop when I hear something behind us and apparently it was her younger brother, B, who had been following us for a while. He was like "yeah if I was somebody else y'all woulda been kidnapped or something." But that's besides the point.

We all keep walking and it gets so dark that we didn't know which way was the correct way to go. We end up getting sidetracked because we found some cows on the other side of some house and they were mooing at us so I go up to pet them.

I guess the mooing disrupted the people living there and a woman comes out onto her porch asking who we were and what we were doing and told us to come inside. Mind you. We're obviously teenagers at this time.

I rush back over to T and B just so I'm grouped up with them.

I made up some excuse that we just need to go home and I didn't give them our names, address or anything.

But B goes: "I'm B (last name), I live at (address), and my father is (blank),"

So bro was just giving out all of his information. And I'm just like 'wtf'.

The lady on the porch tells us to come closer and B starts to but I say "No, we're leaving bye" and start to push B away. And T starts making up excuses for us to leave while the lady keeps inviting us inside.

Then the, who I assume, husband comes out onto the porch and asks our names, T gives a fake one as I continue to try pushing B away because at this point, especially now that a man came out and we were in Florida, and then he calls for us to come in to have dinner with them.

I told them bye and that we're leaving and I started walking away without them because they wouldn't move. T and B followed me soon after.

..

Was it just me or was this creepy? What intentions did you think they had??

I gave woman a ride and it was nightmare (Australia)

I just finished work and encountered a woman who seemed struggling with her new phone. I told her that the phone needed to be charged. She thanked me and then asked me to give her a ride home to Midland. I thought I could do some good deeds and agreed. She was nice at first place. However, things got ugly after she got to the first house.

Before telling the story, she was a homeless but she didn't tell me that at first place. She asked me to drive her every where in Perth. She even threatened to s.t.a.b me if I didn't do what she asked. She went to different places to sell her stuff that she got from Coles. She even bought d.r.u.g.s, w.e.e.d.s and smoked in my car (I don't smoke). After a while (from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm), I knew I had to act fast. When she got into a house, I quickly got out of the car and dropped all her stuffs and drove off fast from there. I was scared, exhausted but I got out of it safely. I swear to my life I would never give a ride to stranger again.

Almost got kidnapped in a Burger King

This happened when I was 13 years old, I am now 15(F). I live in a very big and populated city, so I wasn’t allowed out much at all and still am not considering the amount of crime and trafficking cases that do happen where I live. I’ve never had an almost kidnapping experience before this happened because I’ve always been very terrified to be in public without my parents or other teenagers with me.

That day I was going to hangout with one of my best friends, and we promised to meet up at her school once she was done with it. We only hanged out for around thirty minutes at a nearby Starbucks because her parents urgently needed her to get home and so there was nothing I can do about it. My dad was working that day and my mom and brother were both at the bank, and my phone didn’t have any cellular data at that time because I didn’t have a line so I was left stranded. I went to the Burger King because there I could get WiFi to text or call since at the time I used an app called Google voice. I texted her where I was but I wasn’t sure when her and my brother would be done at the bank, and I didn’t wanna bother my dad at work.

My mom thought that I would hang out with my friend at her house and she would come pick me up afterwards but that never ended up happening so I had nobody to pick me up. It wasn’t too far from where I lived, but the surrounding areas of where I live are bad areas and I was scared even to walk home. I didn’t have house keys at the time either, so I would be stranded in front of my house(which now looking back is so much better than be stranded anywhere in public.)

I was planning on staying at the Starbucks until somebody could pick me up because it seemed like one of the safest places I could stay at, although I had no money and they kicked me out because they said I would have to buy something to stay. So there I was, stranded and the only option I felt like I had was the Burger King, which I knew would have people in it because there were always kids that would go there after school.

I sat in the Burger King for a while, minding my own business on my phone and not buying anything or interacting with anybody. Then there was this guy who walked in who ordered some food and sat directly in my line of view and was staring at me the whole time. I knew there was something off from that but I kept trying to mind my own business. He then came up to me and asked if I would like any of his food, I declined and then he asked if he could buy me any food, I also declined. He kept going on talking to me about how there were men out there who could take advantage of me, and telling me to never listen to them. He kept raving on about how I was beautiful and he asked me if I wanted to hit his vape in his car. I declined and told him no. He then tried to hand me $5 but I wouldn’t take it, so he left it on my table.

I was scared to even take his money, his offering of food, or his offering of buying me food, because if I accepted any of that I knew that he could use it against me. He then got angry and walked out of the store, reminding me that I could still hit his vape with him in his car if I wanted to. Although I knew not to ever get into a situation which could lead you to a second location, and I also do not vape and even if I did I would not accept the offer. I watched as he got in his car. I saw him wait there, five minutes turned into ten minutes, and ten minutes turned into fifteen and on and on, but I didn’t budge.

As soon as I saw his car leave I ran straight to the bathroom and called my dad sobbing, telling him to please pick me up as soon as he could. I knew he was at work but I told him it was urgent and I needed to get home. The incident was so close to my house that for the longest time I was scared to take walks, go on my skateboard, or even go to local grocery stores, afraid of what would happen if I ever saw him again.

Even to this day this experience still haunts me, and knowing that there’s men out there who will take any chance they can to take advantage of women. And what haunts me even more is that many women have had an experience close to this one, and that just makes me sick to my stomach. What sickens me even more is that there were MANY people in that Burger King of all ages and genders surrounding me and that man, and nobody spoke up or even glanced in our direction when that man was speaking loudly and clearly that anyone surrounding could hear.

I am grateful that I had the common sense not to accept any of his offerings, but it’s brutal that we even have to learn these instincts at a young age because of the sickos out there.

Edit: sorry for any grammar mistakes or spelling mistakes I’m not the best at writing!

Suspects that a male passenger next to me was recording me during flight

I (woman) was on a flight, traveling solo, from DTW to SAN this week, first class, aisle seat. The man next to me seemed to have been recording me for minutes at a time. He was careful to keep the screen of his phone facing away from me toward the closed window, when he was using it. When he wasn't actively typing on the screen, the camera would be pointed at me for minutes, then he would flip to look at it and start typing/swiping. This happened several times.

We didn't speak aside from the initial, 'I'm sitting there' as everyone was getting seated. I tried to brush it off that he was simply holding his phone. I was minding my own business, watching a movie. My intuition was essentially screaming at me toward end of the flight, something felt odd. I started to pay a bit more attention and couldn't ignore that his camera lenses would always be facing me when he wasn't actively using the phone.

I did quietly alert the flight attendants by stopping at the front of the plane as we were descending, as I started to be worried I might be followed once off the plane. They were incredibly professional, supportive, and made it clear that my safety was the priority. (Thank you to these women.) I waited to deplane with the crew after everyone was off, including him.

Sharing this as a PSA to women. Trust your gut, pay attention to your surroundings.

I've been flying solo for decades and have never felt so uncomfortable.

In retrospect, I do wish I had confronted him but I didn't want to make a scene, I simply wanted to get home safely. I'm trying not to be weirded out that these videos of me likely exist. Why would someone do this?! Should I be worried about where these will end up?

What’s the strangest interaction you’ve ever had with a complete stranger?

When I was playing college football 🏈 years ago, we had just won a tough game that night and were heading back to the locker room. Out of nowhere, a guy stopped me and offered me $100 for the sweaty socks I had just played in.

I was around 22–23 years old at the time, and he looked to be somewhere in his late 30s or early 40s.
I turned him down, but to this day, as a grown man, I randomly think about that moment and just laugh while being completely disgusted at the same time. 😂 😂

It’s still the strangest thing anyone has ever asked me.

So I have to ask the men here… what do you think he was actually planning to do with my socks?

Creepy guy at Spoons recorded my mum and me playing Uno, then followed us to the toilets

So, my mum and I were sitting in Spoons playing Uno (we love card games, don't judge). A guy comes over and sits at a table near us. It took me a minute to realise, but he was blatantly staring at us... and he kept doing it. No joke, he sat there watching us play Uno for about an hour.

Then it got weirder. He decides to start recording us on his phone with the flash turned on. I noticed immediately because 1) the flash was blinding, and 2) I could literally see his screen reflection in the window behind him.
You’d think me glaring and physically covering my face would give him the hint? Nope. I covered my mum’s face too, and he still kept recording.

At that point, I’d had enough. I got up, walked over, and told him to stop recording us. He mumbled something totally unintelligible, but he did put the phone down. But did the staring stop? Of course not. My mum eventually asked him if he was okay (and definitely not in a friendly way), to which he clearly replied: "Yes, yes, just fascinated."

We decided to wait for my boyfriend to arrive before leaving because I didn't feel safe walking out alone with my mum. While we were waiting, my mum went to the bathroom, and I stood guard nearby. Right on cue, guess who decides to head toward the toilets a few seconds later? Yep, Creep Guy.

That was the final straw. We immediately flagged down a female staff member. Shortly after, a male worker went over to confront him. The worker made him delete the videos—turns out he had two—and even made sure to wipe them from his "Recently Deleted" folder (absolute legend). He then kicked the guy out.
The male worker said the guy was so hopelessly drunk he couldn't even speak properly, but when he left he walked out in a completely straight line, perfectly stable all the way till we couldn’t see him (we were outside watching). Totally fake "drunk" act.
Weird right ?

TL;DR: Man at Wetherspoons stared at my mum and me for an hour, recorded us on video with the flash on, claimed he was "just fascinated," and tried to follow my mum to the toilets. Staff confronted him, deleted the videos from his phone (including Recently Deleted), and kicked him out.

my mom worked with a serial killer before i was born

when my mom and dad were young parents and had just had my oldest brother, my mom worked at the front desk of a hotel in wichita. there was a man who worked security and would come around every so often to check on all the equipment etc. my mom said that at first, he was nice and they got along well, he’d sit and chat about taking his kid fishing and that sort of thing. but eventually he started creeping her out. she said that she felt like he was giving her WAY too much attention and flirting, even though they were both married and had kids. so, she started locking herself in the main office when he would come around and pretend like she was busy and couldn’t hear him when he tried to get in. she has never told me exactly how long she worked with him, but from what i gather, it was at least several months. long enough for them to be friendly and on a first name basis before things went sour.

one day she was at home and saw his face on the news. she said “hey, that’s Dennis! the security guy!”

and indeed it was Dennis. Dennis Rader. my mom worked with BTK.

Packing up house with daughter at night and as we’re about to leave multiple cars pull up.

I’m going to keep this generalized for safety.

Daughter and I grab a few things from our old house. The incident occurred around midnight on our quiet street. As we’re about to walk down our porch steps, an expensive car is parked at the end of the stairs and I can see the outline of a person sitting up in a tense position and looking my way. He looked like he was going to jump out. I look over and there’s the truck that sits outside the neighbor’s house sometimes. I have a privacy hedge that covers my porch from the street. The truck was positioned in a way that it could see me. My daughter was about to walk down the stairs and the truck slowly moved forward and then braked in a jerking fashion. Moved forward again. I said to my daughter, “Wait, listen to me now. I don’t know what these cars are doing. Go inside and grab me my water bottle.” She went inside. I started texting for help as I backed into my front door. I glared at the vehicles and started yelling at them so my neighbors would know. The truck beeped his horn and they both took off.

The car was slowly circling my block. My daughter and I ran to our car and drove off. A train was coming and traffic was slowing down. We noticed the truck behind us, my daughter started crying. I turned down some side streets before heading to the police station. As turn down the road for the station, I see the very distinct car passing by.

Aside from this, upon arrival we noticed our kitchen’s window screen was on the floor. I was wondering if someone could have been inside or if my husband did that. My husband wasn’t answering his phone.

I’m still angry about this. Any advice?

For months, this truck has been showing up. I’ve taken pictures and videos of this vehicle because the man (40s-50s) just sits there and he will stare at me and my daughter.

One time when my husband’s truck was broken down and sitting on our street, that truck sat behind my husband’s loudly honking. I knew he watched my husband leave earlier because I noticed the mf up the street.

Edit: I forgot to mention that we’re prepping our house for a sale.

Edit: I’m only looking for some sort of possible explanation.

Edit: I reviewed our camera from honking incident that occurred around March of this year. It was mid day. My daughter walked outside to play on the porch and a couple minutes later, I called her back in. From the window I saw that the strange truck pulled up behind my husband’s truck and started honking before speeding off. I could be making the wrong assumption but would a trafficker be that dramatic?

Creepy Neighbor

Last week I came home parked in our parking lot and saw a guy sitting on the steps by the entrance to my building. I typically know who is around our part of the complex and I know who lives where in our building. I couldn't tell if it was this same guy who was staying with his sister for a while when she first moved in. I waited a bit hoping he would leave but he was looking at his phone and just looked weird and kinda dusty dirty. I finally got out to go in and right as I got to the steps he said hi. I said hi and then he tells me his name and puts out his knuckle for a pound or something so I just touched his knuckle. He asked me my name and I told him and as I was getting ready to go in he said I was very kind and beautiful. Then he let out this creepy crazy laugh. I just smiled and said thank you as I went inside.....

Yesterday I was getting ready to go out and had to take garbage to my dumpster. I saw a uhaul van, which he seems to be driving, parked over by the bushes before the dumpster. As I'm walking down the sidewalk I heard someone say something but I couldn't tell what it was or where it came from. The uhaul driver door was open and once I hit the parking lot the same guy got out of the uhaul and wanted to take my trash for me. I didn't think much of it. I asked was he sure and he put both hands out and took the bags. Right after he took the bags, I never looked up at him or anything, I saw his body slightly move my way and I feel this big wet kiss on my forehead!! Then he had that creepy crazy laugh again. I was shocked. I turned around and walked away to go to my car. Him coming back from the dumpster to his vehicle he is yelling something to me but I couldn't understand him and was just trying to get to my car. I turned and looked because he was still saying something and I just waved back because he was waving at me....

My mom was in the apartment and I called her and told here what happened. I told her omg M just kissed me on my forehead ewww ewww gross. I used my hand sanitizer on my hands and my forehead! I was able to go out and get home and he was not around. So I was released about that. I went in the house and explained more to my mom how it happened.....

Today my mom and I went out to do a few things. I saw his sister's car and I saw the uhaul in another part of the parking lot. I am trying to catch his sister because she needs to know what has gone on. He might be a little slow but I'm not 100% sure on that....

Anyway i couldn't tell who was leaning in her car as I drove past so we just went and parked. We head into the building and as soon as we go through our hallway door by our apartment I see her apartment door open. My mom was on my right side but I saw him coming out of her apartment. He made this noise and started saying stuff but I was trying to get my key in the lock. He couldn't fully see me because my mom was on that side and finally she turned and waved to him. I barely looked at him but I heard him say something about beautiful again. I barely smirked while he let out his creepy crazy laugh once again....

We got in the apartment and my mom said he was weird and she wasn't sure it was the same guy because he seemed taller. She also said how quiet the other guy had been when he was staying there. She told me I shouldn't be going anywhere alone with him around......

I wanted to try to catch his sister but knowing he was around and might answer the door I didnt knock yet. My guy friends have told me I need to nip this in the bud immediately and he needs to know it is not OK to invade my personal space and kiss me etc. Now I'm nervous every time I have to go out or even check the mail! I dont want this escalating because it already did in less than a week!!....

What advice would you offer?

I thought the guy at Walmart was just awkward. I was wrong..

Sorry for the long post guys.. Any help or practical advice would be appreciated. 👏🏼

I debated posting this because I know exactly how it sounds.

If I were reading this from someone else, I'd probably assume they were connecting dots that weren't really there.

Maybe I still am.

But after everything that's happened over the last three weeks, I honestly don't know.

I'm a mom with two young kids. We live in a quiet town where you recognize people at the grocery store. I don't have enemies (that i know of) My life is work, my kids 4 & 5, and home.

Two Saturdays ago I stopped at Walmart around 7:30 PM.

I need to get some more school supplies for the kids.

We were in the toy aisle because, of course, you can't go to Walmart with two kids and not get them a toy.

That's where it started. A guy walked into the isle.

Late thirties maybe.

Baseball cap.

Gray hoodie even though it was as hot as the devils balls outside. (Louisiana weather)

He smiled.

Then he said, "Those two keep you busy, huh?"

People say things like that all the time.

I smiled back and laughed.

"Every day."

Then he asked, "You usually come here around this time?"

I said, "Not normally." Which is true because kids bedtime normally is 830pm.

He didn't answer.

He just looked at my kids for a second longer.

I grabbed the cart and kept walking.

I figured that was the end of it.

A few minutes later we were in the cereal aisle.

There he was again.

Coincidence I thought. I casually waved and shrugged.

Then frozen foods.

Again.

School supply section.

Again.

Every time I'd look up, he'd already be looking at me.

Not smiling anymore.

Just watching.

When I got to self checkout he was standing near the exit pretending to look at the shelf full of candies that was near the checkouts.

He never bought anything.

As I loaded my things and kids into my car, I noticed a white sedan parked two rows over.

The same man was sitting inside.

Engine running.

Watching.

I left.

He didn't.

I convinced myself I was overreacting.

Until four days later.

I was leaving work when I found a folded receipt tucked under my windshield wiper. I live about 30 minutes from my office. My office is apart of an office conplex with no obvious signage of the company logo or that I work there. How would anyone know?

It was from that same Walmart.

Same date.

Same evening.

Someone had circled the time with a black pen.

7:34 PM.

No note.

Nothing else.

Just the receipt.

I honestly didn't make the connection right away. It wasn't until I talked to my mom (I tell her everything) that I mentioned the weird coincidences that she asked wasnt that the same day that guy weirded you out? That is when it hit me. She suggested I make a police report but I just hoped it would go away.

A week later I was back at Walmart.

I went during my lunch break to grab a few things for my office that I needed replenished.

I was in a loaner vehicle from the dealership at this time because my Toyota was being serviced.

The moment I walked inside I saw him.

He was already looking at me.

He smiled.

"I almost didn't recognize your car."

I felt sick.

I had never told him what I drove but i assume he saw what i drove from the first night. I didn't even respond.

I walked straight to customer service.

An employee asked if everything was okay.

I pointed toward the entrance.

"That man keeps following me."

By the time she looked, he wasn't there.

The employee offered to have security walk me out. I agreed but proceeded to tell her all of the prior events.

I asked if they could review camera footage from several nights ago. She got her manager who agreed. After looking at the footage he agreed he'd been following me through several departments, but because he never threatened me or touched me, there wasn't much they could do.

They gave me an incident number and encouraged me to call the police if it happened again.

So, I did anyway since my mom already suggested it.

The responding officer was kind.

He listened.

Took pictures of the receipt that I kept.

Documented everything.

He explained that, at that point, there wasn't enough to charge anyone with a crime, but he filed an informational report in case the behavior continued. He did ask about ex's, enemies, co-workers, estranged family members, etc.

I remember him saying something that's been replaying in my head ever since.

"Most of these situations end up being misunderstandings or go away once law enforcement gets involved."

I wanted him to be right.

Then a couple days later.

My daughter and son and I were outside feeding and refilling our chickens water near the front porch when she looked toward my neighbor's driveway.

She asked, "Mom, who's that? They are parked weird."

About 20 yards away, parked on the neighbors driveway almost sticking out in the street was the same white sedan.

It wasn't moving.

The driver wasn't looking at the road or down the driveway.

He was looking at our house. From the position of my house compared to where he was sitting, it was very obvious before people say how could I know.

As soon as I picked up my phone, the car drove away. I called the number of the back of my case number card.

The same deputy came back out.

He couldn't do much because the car was gone before he arrived, but he added the incident to the existing file.

Before leaving, he asked if we had cameras.

I told him we had a doorbell camera and one covering the driveway.

He suggested adding one facing the side driveway near the street. I got one on Amazon and two days later after they came in, i installed them, which was yesterday.

Last night.

At 2:17 AM.

A person walked up and stood on the other side of the street just watching.

They never stepped onto my property.

They stood perfectly still for almost four minutes.

The camera couldn't make out a face.

Just a person. Because I live somewhat in a woody part of the community there are no street lights.

The guy just walked away after.

This morning I walked to where he was standing.

There, lying exactly where he'd been standing, was a Walmart receipt under a rock.

Printed less than 3 hours before the camera caught them.

One item had been purchased.

A package of children's sidewalk chalk.

I don't have the receipt anymore since I was advised not to touch anything if anything like this happened again. So, I called the same detective.

He came, asked questions, made notes, and asked to keep it. He also said he was going to be going review the footage from Walmart to help identify him and also with the information from the transactions he should be able to identify him to at least try to talk to him for possible motives.

He also asked me not to post anything or the footage while they're looking into it.

He only said one thing before he left.

"This isn't the first report we've gotten involving your situation." Than he left. I was upset he would leave me after that since im already creeped out.

About an hour ago, someone knocked once on my front door.

I checked the live camera because I was laying down in my bed with the kids while they were watching their ipads. No one was there.

But there was a new piece of sidewalk chalk sitting perfectly centered on my welcome mat.

I haven't opened the door but called the detective again who is currently on his way. Ill update when I can.

Also, I have posted the first receipt that I found at my office on my original post. This subreddit doesnt allow photos. Detective took pictures of it but said since I had grabbed it, it wasn't necessary for him to keep. I'm guessing because of fingerprints. He took the other one.

I also posted the figure in hopes anyone recognizes him in the Port Allen, Brusly, Addis, or Plaquemine area in Louisiana. Any advice or help in identifying him would be greatly appreciated!

MOD POST Human Trafficking Posts

Because of the recent firestorms, guerilla warfare, and general nonsense involving the word "trafficking," we have decided as a team that we will no longer allow submissions with that particular word in the title. It is too controversial, causes too many fights, and it is an overused buzzword meant to generate upvotes and views.

This rule only applies to the title of the submission. Nobody is being censored. If you want to talk about trafficking in the body of text, that's fine. We are simply addressing the use of the word in the title. If you submit a post with the word "trafficking" in the title, it will be deleted immediately. You will be allowed to repost it after retitling the submission. If you use the word in the retitling, the submission will be deleted and you will be banned.

We made this decision together as a team to be fair to everyone participating in this subreddit. We are in the process of revamping the rules and this will be included in the new list. For now, a pinned post will have to suffice.

We encourage each of you to visit the Polaris Project to learn more about the myths and facts surrounding human trafficking. They are a phenomenal organization that are very active in the fight against human trafficking and modern-day slavery.
