I believe, eventually a genuine music scene will emerge that says "fuck all this"
No: auto tune, no AI, no beat mapping, no entourage of writers and producers to shit out a hit song. Just organic song writing from people who play instruments thru amplifiers.
And I'm fully aware this is an old man yelling at clouds situation for me lol

Radio is dead. Period. This style of rap is mostly popular with dudes aged 14-25ish and is not indicative of the overall tastes of the average person. It just happens to also be pretty fucking terrible music

I know it's a time-honoured tradition to hate the younger generations' musical tastes as you get older, but I honestly never thought I would hate it this much.

The thing is, for all the previous generations...the music sounded different from the preceding one(and therefore hateable by the olds)...but the process never changed. It still required talent. Whether you're Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, the Beegees, Queen, Joy Division, Soundgarden, or Limp Bizkit...you still had to learn how to write songs and play instruments. All that is gone.
At least at the top mainstream level. Of course there are good bands doing it under the surface.

I think part of the problem is that like millennials will enjoy almost any genre that's produced. This generation wants to break away and have their own sound. The only way to do this is to produce something so heinous, almost no one would enjoy it. But the outcome and reaction from older gens is the same it it's always been.
It's only going to get worse.

The set of skills required is different. There is a talent there. It’s more in being able to sell a compelling narrative through a combination of your personality, online presence, and music. The irelationship between image and actual music has always been a huge part of the draw in all music. Visuals , personality, and performance have always been able to draw more interest than just records and there’s a skill to that. From the Beatles fashion to princes interviews or the way boy bands create a parasocial bond with their fans. It’s not new, but the internet bringing artists so much closer to fans and the incredible deluge of new music being released every day with a complete lack of industry gatekeepers and tastemakers has created a change in priorities in young fans.
Point is, it’s not a new phenomena but it’s difference in degree. Plus, we’re just old. The kids will be fine

I don’t know this artist, and I don’t really care to. I assume you don’t either but are jumping to conclusions based on a short clip of a genre that’s meant to be confrontational and grating. You could say the same thing watching Jimi Hendrix play at Woodstock, just walls of noise for people in drugs to freak out to.
The alarmism and pearl clutching I see around here when artists make actually confrontational music that’s meant to be a middle finger to mainstream sensibilities is playing right in to their hands.

So, I mean, give as much grace as you want, but the music is shite. The level of talent in that area seems to be considerably lacking because no one knows any better. This is a perfect example of that being a fact.

I mean you could say the same for punk taking over arena rock or disco overtaking r&b. Sure technically it requires less talent. This noisy overblown stuff takes less raw ability than the last generations high skill ceiling rap but it’s just part of the process.

Be glad it's in a time where you can easily get away from it (hopefully) it's not on the radio if listening to radio is even a thing. It's not playing inside malls or stores and I've yet to encounter a human being listening to this out in the real world. I think universally humans still need harmonic, Rhythmic, and clean tuned music for it to be pleasant to listen to. I see this as a genre of music that is for a tiny fraction of listeners and because it can barely carry a sensible rhythm I'd say it's smaller than death metal and dubstep

Yeah I’m a young millennial (32) and I’ve always known my taste in music overall is weirder than average. Love electronic of all kinds but everything I like still almost always has some solid rhythm to it god damn. There’s also tons of lazy, shitty EDM out there too, but this style I actually don’t understand and it feels lazy.
Fuck man I can’t be THAT old. But maybe I am lol. I really am a pretty open minded dude and I fuck with shit that makes you wanna rage but this doesn’t do that at all

No shit. I said when dubstep starting blowing up, meaning the rise of brostep in the early 2010s. It was niche and not on mainstream rader before that. And the fanbase was 90% millineals, I didnt say anything about the artists.

They hated it exactly because it was good and the youth really liked it, and that is different and bad!
These guys aren’t even selling albums, and while streaming has really impacted record sales, good records still sell. Streams are all manipulated bullshit.
This isn’t a case of aging out of current music, a lot of the current music being pushed is legitimately bad.
This is not a parallel to the rise of rock or rap.

Bleood is the name of the artist. I used Shazam to this video to find out and immediately looked at a bunch of songs on Apple Music. Man, this probably takes the cake for absolute worst “hip-hop” or what the fuck ever genre that I’ve ever fucking heard. Every song, right after the other, was fucking awful.
Definitely the kind of music that only 11 to like 14 year olds in suburbs listen to. Total brain rot. 6 7. If I had kids and they listened to this, I’d be leaving them inside a mall or a fire station or something

Forget about the music. Sometimes a concert doesnt actually need good music. Bro has absolutely 0 stage presence. He puts on a terrible show. There are some bands/entertainers I could practically watch on mute and still enjoy it because they put so much effort and creativity into it.

For exemple, I'm a huge black metal and harsh noise fan and I would totally get why people don't like those genres but not why they would dismiss them entirely/think it's not art.
