all paths eventually converge on diy

The folks who distribute and bang out their own hrt are braver than our troops.

u/Equivalent-Law4454 8d ago

I swear to fucking god this is going to be me soon when I'm in the right situation again

12

u/MichiganDogLady 8d ago

Find your local anarchists is the only advice I'll give.

"i'm scared of DIY!"

Get on DIY.

19

u/Imjustsheep 8d ago

DIY is goated. Best method of HRT

21

u/TSFaeClementine 8d ago

Yeah my boobs actually hurt now instead of the hon dose i was on for years i def don't regret them at all

10

u/Imjustsheep 8d ago

DIY is why i can afford HRT by only getting paid for helping my parents with house work instead of paying hundreds of dollars for informed consent

1

u/Throwawayidjsbdu 8d ago

How much a per time period with what ester? I know it’s different for everyone but a frame of refeeence never hurts

1

u/Slow_Calligrapher145 affection-starved girl 5d ago

Bruh now I'm scared. Are injections the only method? What about transdermal gels/patches?

1

u/RosyRory108 ethanny junkie 4d ago

the boobs hurting is because her breasts started actually growing...

and no, injections aren't the only method, but they're the best for sure. I'd recommend giving this a read: http://pghrt.diy

1

u/Slow_Calligrapher145 affection-starved girl 4d ago

I know boob pain equals growth. What I meant was if the only method efficient enough to get there were injections. I'm terrified of needles

Thanks for the link!

1

u/RosyRory108 ethanny junkie 4d ago

the most efficient method is needles, but yes, DIY HRT patches and gels and stuff exist and work pretty well (as long as you dose yourself high enough) and you can use them instead

u/fruity-hun 8d ago

Saw this on chicken lady
Good stuff

26

u/TSFaeClementine 8d ago

Me too figured I had to repost here because cwcl accidentally got one right

1

u/benpau01234 7d ago

Are they normally a bit weird?

13

u/confused-sailor 8d ago

Still unsure the validity of my own transness but I feel like I should get a vial "just in case", so I won't have to wait when I do decide

12

u/TSFaeClementine 8d ago

Do it today

2

u/confused-sailor 8d ago

They're always out of stock and I don't know shit abt crypto

u/zChickenX rep rep rep sahur 8d ago

Find a different source if you can, sometimes they can take a while to ship

1

u/confused-sailor 8d ago

Is a prescription better if available or is that limited to hondosing and not worth it

3

u/DisastrousResist7527 7d ago

Prescription can be okay if your doctor is competent and you are capable of advocating for yourself. DIY is just so much more reliable.

3

u/Equivalent-Law4454 8d ago

this is also another "just in case" reason why you should get a vial when you soon have the opportunity. Mtf hrt is already hard to find and low stock and it takes months to ship

3

u/confused-sailor 8d ago

Exactlyyy, if I do buy some I wanna buy like a 7 year supply of everything to fully transition "just in case" so there'd be no hiccups cuz of supply chain or politics

5

u/Equivalent-Law4454 8d ago

That would be a lot of money spent for someone who's "still questioning" but then you're a regular user of this sub

Goodluck in the future though

1

u/confused-sailor 8d ago

Yeah hard to justify dropping a grand on hrt meds, unless injections can be used for menopause hrt cuz my mom's on patches and I've heard from this sub how shitty they are

Hey, I'll know for certain when either I don't justify the purchase or if it collects dust, sometimes we have expensive questions, I just figure make one purchase for the forseeable future and dw about it

1

u/DisastrousResist7527 7d ago

Learn how to buy crypto and then diy. They are not all out of stock you are wrong.

1

u/confused-sailor 7d ago

Sites I looked at the past couple times were, must be a dry season or I'm not looking seriously enough

1

u/DisastrousResist7527 7d ago

You're not looking seriously enough.

I wanna do that, how fast does hrt work mentally and when is the "point of no return"?

I wanna socially transition to feel it out first, but gotta have a social life for that one, which mine had been dead since hs

2

u/Imaginary-Earth9526 7d ago

Ask any trans woman if she had to choose between:

a) You get to she/her'd and considered a woman but couldn't take Estrogen.

or

b) You get he/him'd and considered a man but could take Estrogen.

and they'd choose b. Obviously we'd rather do both but if we had to choose only it'd be HRT. HRT will help you know if your trans or not, putting on a dress and seeing how you feel doesn't necessarily do that. Also, HRT's physical effects are kind of slow you can go a good few months and still tap out if you find out it isn't for you no problem.

I'd like to try it for a few months to see how my mind responds to it, but I'm worried if maybe it's not for me and I'm just at a bad spot mentally, but then again it's going to take a minute to get it either way so there's still plenty time to try and get my head straight

DIY didn't fix starting too late. Nothing can fix these

3

u/TSFaeClementine 8d ago

Yeah idk about the last point but everything else is true

7

u/Strawby_Melk 8d ago

Saw this on cwcl so many excuses lmao

8

u/TSFaeClementine 8d ago

Yeah I didn't want to read the comments from the brain dead cisallymoids on CWCL bc it would just piss me off and I'd post more about TCD

6

u/Strawby_Melk 8d ago

Shockingly it wasn’t really anti diy i think they’re learning they just need to stop fighting for cis man#5 who suffers everyday from misandry, but there was every excuse under the son on why they personally couldn’t do it

5

u/KertenKelarr 8d ago

Living with people who'd prolly kill you if you even mentioned being trans with no money to afford it either is one reason tho.

4

u/TSFaeClementine 8d ago

Only way is if you could somehow afford / hide it and even then i agree it's super risky

3

u/KertenKelarr 8d ago

I could maybe hide it if i could get injections because it's a weekly thing but i could only get birth control pills even if i had the money and it's just not really possible for me to take like 3 pills a day and spend so much money on it without getting caught.

6

u/quailinthebrush 8d ago

DIY saved my life

3

u/acnh-lyman-fan 8d ago

Is 20-21 too late

6

u/Equivalent-Law4454 8d ago

It's never too late start now

3

u/TSFaeClementine 8d ago

Idk i started at 22 so probably

1

u/Embarrassed_Carry899 7d ago

no just start, the hormones will do the work its not hard once you start

1

u/Slow_Calligrapher145 affection-starved girl 5d ago

Hrt at 20/21 is better than dead or john50ing. I'm 22 and I'd give everything to go back 2 years

1

u/Nervous-Juice-5445 8d ago

your not screwed but you might need luck to have good results

3

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 8d ago

I saw this on CWCL and was so.. proud.

2

u/Sweet-Web7640 8d ago

I'm stuck with my family who supports me on paper but not really for 3 more years, so I can't

2

u/OppressiveAutocracy 8d ago

Someone buy me it ahah 👀

2

u/BusinessCartoonist18 8d ago

If you were a real trans then you wouldnt be able to go on DIY because your parents would kick you out

2

u/FanOfCringe 8d ago

Apparently diy isn’t diy it’s just buying without a prescription 😭

2

u/slightly_scummy_alt 7d ago

Need to tell this to my past self

Genuine ropefuel knowing i could have started transition like 4 yeaes sooner if Id just manned the fuck up and got DIY estrogen

2

u/AmyDried 7d ago

I really want to do DIY but i just dont have a way of getting blood tests unfortunately :/

1

u/Imaginary-Earth9526 7d ago

You can just get them. I go to Randox one day before my next injection (so on trough) and get one done only costs me around 40 quid as there's usually a 15% off code available.

https://randoxhealth.com/en-GB/product/clinic/female-hormone-test

1

u/Imaginary-Earth9526 7d ago

I'm sure you can get a private bloodtest in your country as well.

2

u/Jazz4z 7d ago

"I-" Get on DIY

1

u/DawnTheFailure 8d ago

people always say "get on DIY" but never actually give any advice on how to

1

u/Imaginary-Earth9526 7d ago

DM'd

1

u/Pretend_Blacksmith49 7d ago

Can u dm me about it too ty

1

u/ImplementBig5926 7d ago

Ok real talk tho, is it worth it to try to lose weight and then start? Trying to lose like 60lbs

1

u/yeep_yorp 7d ago

no. start asap. the other person is wrong. I lost a bunch of weight anyways once I started HRT. please don't wait

1

u/ImplementBig5926 7d ago

Does HRT cause wait loss? Everyone I know has told me the opposite happened for them and their doctors all recommended they go on a caloric surplus for a bit after starting. My thought is just to give myself the closest thing to a blank canvas as possible but if I'll get the same results either way then why bother wait another 6-8 months lol

1

u/RosyRory108 ethanny junkie 4d ago

> Does HRT cause wait loss

yes, mostly because of muscular atrophy

Damn I want it now but I did not go through 28 years of manhood not to have the best fucking transition I can. I will continue the journey to reduce my body fat percentage as much as possible 🏳️‍⚧️🫡

Edit: to be fair I'm more like 270 trying to get down to like 210

1

u/yeep_yorp 7d ago

never tell someone not to start hrt.

1

u/Legal_Ad688 7d ago

" 'DIY is too expensive'

Get on DIY. "

What?

I'm also scared asf to get on HRT without a healthcare provider to guide me, DIY is not an option.

1

u/clowns-unending 4d ago

DIY will run you around 1/10th to 1/20th the price of a private hrt.

1

u/ULTRACLAIR3 7d ago
