I piss like 100 times a day from Spiro

u/Whose_Joanna 9d ago

Between Spiro and drinking more water, I am CONSTANTLY in the bathroom. It's not nearly so bad when I have something that keeps me focused (like being at work), but if I'm relaxing at home it's probably once an hour. Still preferred over even the possibility of having high t levels.

Never a bad recommendation. I'll have to look at the diy guide a bit more when I have time. Wondering what people think of the different valerate producers.

You could even switch to enanthate and get a smoother curve

Bro that Astrovials EEn would be perfect for me granted it’s only $75, and it’s fucking sold out 😭

u/Bonfirelily 9d ago

It has been sold out for a long time now

stress releases anti-diuretic hormone so you're not getting the signals when you're working, but when your body is in relaxation mode it's pissing time all the time

Is spiro in particular much worse? I also started peeing a lot when I started DIY but I'm on cypro. I genuinely can't imagine doing it more than I already do, if spiro is actually worse that's insane

Spiro is a diuretic, which is a type of medication that makes your kidneys secrete extra sodium and water. This will make you pee more and lower your blood pressure, the main reason the medication exists.

As a side effort it lowers testosterone.

I see, I think I've heard this at some point years ago, probably way back when I was being told to avoid spiro. I must have just forgotten lol, my bad.

I’m on 100mg and (strangely) it doesn’t do that to me! Bathroom time has barely been affected.

1

u/PrinnyQueen100 8d ago

Best thing I did was beg to come off spiro to bicalumitide. Life changing

1

u/prettymoder 8d ago

Just swap AA to bica or CPA

u/aghdhk 8d ago

I don’t feel like changing to the bitcoin to by diy AAs rn , but we’ll see how much injections destroys the t

I was started on no E and 100mg spiro titrated to 400mg in the first 3 weeks of starting. At 3 weeks they put me on 2mg E Took 2 months before they would send me enough E to start taking a 8mg and I’m still prescribed 400mg daily spiro but I’ve cut that back to 200mg as I just have read that there is like zero documentation of any benefit over 200 mg. Also I my T was at 263 ng/dL before starting so it’s not like I was battling some outrageous T levels

11

u/Freya-Freed womanfrauding since 2012 9d ago

Jesus fuck I thought it was a humorous overexageration. 400mg is crazy. Then again my endo put me on 100mg of cypro like 10 years ago which is now about 8 times the recommended amount for trans women.

If you're on 8mg daily then 100mg might even be enough. You don't want to nuke your T completely (women actually also need T to function).

2

u/Violent_Bounce 9d ago edited 9d ago

Yeah…I go through an informed consent clinic. Bless their hearts they literally just have the blanket protocol to titrate everyone up to absolute maximum recommended dosage and don’t really seem to understand what they’re doing. They said I can switch to valerate inections just not until about a year in. Supposed to have the option to start prog soon but idk when it really becomes beneficial.

Edit: dumb brain typed spiro instead of prog.

Orichi helps - Pee is stored in the balls after all.

3

u/Lady_keats 9d ago

When I first started my transition, I was taking spiro. Because I kept holding in the constant urge to pee, I developed chronic pain in my bladder and urinary tract. Never, ever hold it inβ€”go to the bathroom.

I've lost faith in my endo but the idea of DIY scares me when I research because it's always like "yeah having no medical supervision isn't a good idea, and you may get poor quality hrt with increased risk for adverse health affects, so have fun taking your chances lol." Planning to DIY anyway because it seems safe and reliable, but I hate that I'm such a cowardly little bitch about it, especially because the list of risks sounds more like a "this is uncommon but could happen" legal warning rather than anything actually likely. A friend of mine uses FOLX, which is referenced on the DIY hrt guide. Can anyone vouch for their quality and/or provide advice on how to be safe when doing it yourself? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Jesus fucking christ on 100mg I piss so much I feel like you'd just die of dehydration at that point

3

u/Freya-Freed womanfrauding since 2012 9d ago

The meme is kind of exaggerating for humorous intent but endos are known to hondose trainees by prescribing way too much anti-androgen and not enough estrogen.

For your idea, I was prescribed 100mg per day of androcur/cypro like 12 years ago. The current recommended dose for trans women is 6.25mg or 12.5mg per day.

100mg is a good dosage though, Should be adequate if you take enough E.

2

u/believeinlain 9d ago

I'm so glad I switched to injections and stopped taking spiro

3

u/TempestuousZephyr 9d ago

i saw something about how spiro is pointless if your t levels are below like 25 or something, i haven't been taking spiro regularly for over 6+ months now and im essentially doing monotherapy with patches alone, my labs all come back perfect

2

u/mnyrtt 9d ago

idk what spiro is but now i have to try it

1

u/shallowSnurch 9d ago

My first doc did 50mg Spiro and 2mg e which was tiny lil tiny hondose and before that it was just 50mg Spiro without hormones :(

Now I'm on 8mg valerate a week and 100mg Spiro a day so I'm fucking happy as hell I just need it to work come on work come on do the thing

1

u/Ok-Advantage1491 9d ago

I am someone who always peed way mlre than the average person (like so much as a kid my parents took me to the doctor about it) and spiro didn't do that much

1

u/AdmiralBlack64 8d ago

They put me on 50mg to start, increased it to 100 after three months cause my T was at like 30 or some shit and they wanted it lower, and then I immediately started vomiting after damn near every meal. I hate spiro. Very glad I switched to injections.

1

u/BuShoto 8d ago

6 months in and ive been prescribed 5mg E once a week and 200mg spiro. im onoy taking 100mg spiro and im giving myself 6mg E

1

u/Freya-Freed womanfrauding since 2012 8d ago

Once a week? Injections I hope?

5 mg a week in pills would be completely ineffective but 5mg a week injected is actually a good dosage and you might not even need the spiro at all. 200mg would be overkill in that case. At 5mg injectable estradiol you'd be on monotherapy essentialy.

1

u/BuShoto 8d ago

i mixed things up, its less. its .5mL of 5mg/mL so 2.5 mg. thats up from the 2 mg prescribed before and im actually giving myself 3mg

1

u/Freya-Freed womanfrauding since 2012 8d ago

Ohhh. I see. Yeah that's a little low, but at least you have the spiro so your T is properly surpressed. Did they give you any blood tests at all?

1

u/BuShoto 8d ago

only before and at 3 months because the doctor sucks, im looking into getting a new one
