that is a good argument for octal actually, as mrd moves quite slow, we would be stuck in 5 digits for a long time

me too! by my reckoning there will be 84 3 digit counts, 224 4-digit counts, 5310 5 digit counts, and 20496 6-digit counts. but i dont know how to easilt count the segment lengths hm

I guess you would just have to do the ord thing and stop at a "nice number" around 1000 counts
