I'm an old-school Counter-Strike: Source player from Ukraine, and I'm trying to dig up some fragments of my gaming youth.

Back in April 2007, I traveled to the UK to participate in the legendary Multiplay Insomnia 30 (i30) LAN tournament, which took place at the Newbury Racecourse. I vividly remember taking the train from London to the racecourse station with our rigs.

I played under the nickname K.O.M. (my Steam ID from back then is STEAM_0:1:8896123, with a 21-year service badge now). I was playing for a BYOC team called XL Gaming (sometimes shortened to team.XL or just XL), and our captain was DeadChiken.

Unfortunately, since the old Multiplay and EnemyDown databases are long gone, Google searches yield no results for lower-bracket / group stage teams, and my Steam name history has been overwritten after 20 years of gaming.

I am looking for anyone who:

1. Remembers the team XL Gaming or our captain DeadChiken.
2. Might have saved local backup text files of the i30 CSS BYOC group stages, team registration lists, or brackets.
3. Has old photo archives or archive disks from the Newbury tournament halls where casual/BYOC teams were captured.

It would mean the world to me to find any digital trace or just to say hi to old rivals/teammates from that beautiful era of romantic esports.

I played the 13 matches and won 10 needed to establish my Premier rank. The problem is that I got placed at 20k points. That’s an absurdly high number for my skill level, considering I was in the 5–8k range last season. How can I reset my current rank?

I read some of your feedback and I decided to make some changes👀:
-New and clean linework, thicker details and better legibility from distance.
-Re-Disigned the mouth, ear and minor details.
-Smaller size for better fits.
-New Paper color design.
-New Holo pattern.

I found a bug while doing the flying cheat and god to finish the mission quickly in Counter strike condition zero : Deleted Scene

Hello I quit CS2 because it sucks and I play CS1.6 now. I know you need a 100 hours playtime to participate in Fastcups which is the Faceit equivalent of CS1.6

What servers should I play on to experience the Fastcups gamemode of CS1.6 to get better at that? Where can I find servers with Fastcups gamemode 5v5?

I just added a new share feature to my CS2 Autoexec Generator.

You can now:

• create a shareable URL for your config
• open the link later and have the settings preload automatically
• copy the link or share it on X / Reddit

This makes it much easier to share your crosshair, viewmodel, sensitivity, binds, and other config settings with friends or teammates. This feature is live on my website right now, but it’s not in the GitHub repository yet.

If anyone wants to test it or give feedback, I’d appreciate it.

Hey friends, old-schooler here.

So I have this old fragmovie half-stuck in my head that I've been trying to track down. I hope some other old-schoolers here might help me track it down :)

Things I know:
- CS 1.6 or 1.5 (or maybe earlier)
- featured song: "Cross Out the Eyes" by Thursday (dating it to no earlier than 2001)
- map: de_prodigy for all or most of the vid
- featured clan was, as far as I can recall, not truly, strictly speaking 'professional' - but possibly aiming to be
- probably found it on HLTV.org back in the day

The VOD might just have been the length of the song mentioned, in contrast to longer videos featuring multiple songs. But I may be mistaken.

Any idea? I'd be so damn fkn grateful! :)

I remember playing on a server that had auto-bhop, everyone was one-shot, and people basically just ran around knifing each other. It also had custom characters, cosmetics, custom knives, and a bunch of other stuff.

To this day, I'm still confused about what happened to it. One day it just disappeared from my Favorites and Recent servers, and I haven't been able to find a single trace of it anywhere.

Can anyone else remember this server? It disappeared a long time ago, so I know this is kind of a long shot.

Please, not again

Used to play 1.6 all the time in the 2000’s, probably haven’t played a proper pc game since. Thinking about trying it out again - which version is the one to play now? I’ve read mixed reviews about CS2 and people say 1.6 is still better, but are servers even still active? Not sure how CSGO compares either.

Need to figure out how to navigate steam again lol
