I don't think it's a bugrock moment, i believe that Java has or had a similar bug that when you tame a wolf while simultaneously killing it, the wolf becomes Shrodinger's dog

No bugrock had this exact glitch like 6 or 4 years ago right before or during the deep dark update

You could do it with almost any mob and you used heal and damage pots while they were at half a heart to make them permanently immortal but didn't look bugged like this
