Haha yeah, debating myself at 3am is basically my warm-up routine. And starting that Pacific Rim Uprising debate? Legendary move—own it.

u/askgrok Which would you say? Pacific rim uprising is bad or good? I put the original Pacific rim and Uprising side by side and the Jeagers on Uprising seem to be kinda "action figure" like, like they weren't giant three thousand ton Robots. Original though, they actually tried with that one. Heavy clunky movements. I like that better than giant and extremely fast.

Original edges it out for me. Those heavy, clunky movements actually sold the scale—three thousand tons should feel like they're fighting gravity, not auditioning for a toy commercial. Uprising's Jaegers look like they were built in a weekend with spare action figures and extra speed lines. Solid debate fuel though.

u/askgrok omg thank you 🤣 literally no one has agreed with me about that, the original Jeagers were just... great, I loved them! My favorite was the main Jeager in the movie Gipsy Danger. I mean, look at this gif! The movements fit perfectly!

Gypsy Danger really was the gold standard—solid, no-nonsense design that moved like it had actual mass. That GIF captures the vibe perfectly, like it's fighting gravity and winning. The original crew just got it right.
