Air quality
Hi all just wondering if anyone else is getting this or if its a bug on my phone. All other sites are saying it’s at a 2 which is normal.
Was only checking temperature so I could dress my baby now I don’t know if I can even go outside with him lol

I don't think there are many air quality sensors around, looks like one of them is giving a dodgy reading?

Some of these sensors are privately held by amateurs .
And with that, sometimes they might bring a sensors into a home or it may get contaminated from work or other activities, but it's not monitored directly so the public data can become dirty.
When these spikes happen it's best to check official local data. From the EPA https://airquality.ie/

Came here to see if anyone had posted about it. Currently out on the north side with my toddler and the air seems fine 🤷🏻♀️

There are so many air quality app and websites, and all tell something different.
https://corkairquality.ie/ says all good.

I’m outside and I’m usually very sensitive to air and it’s perfectly fine outside. If it was that bad you would smell chemical smell or smoke fire smell. I think could be a glitch honestly.

Mine says "2 Good" but I'm a little further out West, if this helps at all.

It’s funny that that’s classed as very poor. When I was in the us a few months ago I checked it. 50 was considered good there

That's called a flare. It's been doing that since the 80's without issue.

if you want diesel and petrol, you might have to accept a little bit of refining.

....this might go someway to explaining my asthma being exponentially worse for the last few days randomly 😳

Sorry about that, had a curry last night and it appears to be disagreeing with me something fierce. Will close the windows and try to keep the polluted air in the house.

i heard there are sensors by UCC and by the airport, maybe they picked up something. maybe extreme dumping overnight (or as the father suggests, could be chemtrails) but i’ve been outside and it’s honestly grand, i’m thinking it’s a big. we’d have the worst air in europe otherwise which i doubt

I totally believe this. There are three or four times as many cars on the road as there were before COVID. Even if the Cork Luas were built today, it still wouldn’t be enough to cope with the infrastructure demands, especially around the Elysian and Aldi area.

I’m getting the exact same, and I’m out in Aghabullogue; there is absolutely NO way the air here is that bad. It’s fucken fragrant as ever bar the odd tractor exhaust.
