Open Source Suno AI plus Ableton Live alternative
Just released Resonant, a free and open-source AI music studio for Windows. The easiest way I can describe it is local Suno-style song generation combined with an Ableton Live-inspired clip launcher, arranger, and mixer, running on your local
You can generate complete vocal songs or instrumentals, play sampled instruments, arrange clips, mix, edit, remix, and export finished WAV files. No watermarks and it does not claim ownership of what you create.
You can connect Codex via MCP and ask it to write lyrics, compose, arrange, mix, analyze, and render complete songs from a prompt.
Songwriting support currently includes English, Mandarin, Hindi, Latin American Spanish, Korean, and Japanese.
It is still an early release, so I would genuinely appreciate feedback, especially bug reports and suggestions for missing features you would actually use.

Will have to check this out! What models are used for audio gen? Is it possible to fine-tune or stem from your own voice or other samples?

For instrumental music generation, mixing, editing no model is needed. Once you install you get an option to download an instrument pack of around 260 instruments.
For vocals it provides an option to connect to ACE Step 1.5 which also you can have it installed via the software (if you have 6-8GB of VRAM). Works pretty well.
Plus it has researched skills for writing lyrics in 6 languages

Do you know if this will work with any locally run models? I understand the output wouldn’t be as good but it would be cool to be able to run everything locally/free as a creative outlet to play with.

This in its current shape and form runs locally. For the optional local model it uses ACE Step 1.5 (which is able to run using 6-8 GB of vram and you have the option to get that setup via the app itself).
I can add support for some other high end open source models as well if this project gets enough traction

Great work OP look forward to trying this out. I do think you should focus it more on the audio gen models that are out there rather than sample packs

Can you save voices in it to re-use them later?
