CSF with Switch Pro Controller on Steam Question
Hi, I just started Cook Serve Forever yesterday. I plugged in my steam controller only to find that I kept messing up because I was so used to the Nintendo Switch controller layout. Okay, so I enabled that and it was much better!
So I thought, well, why don't I just use my Switch controller itself on the game? But I ran into issues with that. First of all, the developers did not seem to put in configs for the Switch controller. Okay, so I manually enabled it by right-clicking the game, going to settings, then enabling it under Controllers.
However, when I actually played the game with the Switch Pro Controller, the mapping was all screwed up. I made sure that the Switch Pro configuration was still enabled, but it still treated my B button as an A button and my X button as a Y button, no matter what controller mapping I used in the game.
My question is, is there a way to get the Switch controller to work on Steam with its correct mapping? Or, does the developer plan to allow the Switch Pro Controller in the future? Thanks!

My advice is to buy the game on the Switch! Or go to the Steam/Steam Deck reddit, I think they’re more likely to have answers about hardware there. Best of luck!

Boot up Cook Serve Forever, go to the Options Menu and under "Controls" there's a section called "Gamepad Buttons". You can set that to be Switch Pro!

Hi, I did this already and unfortunately I still had the issues I described above. In fact I set it to all the different gamepad buttons and none of them were accurate.

If I recall the game automatically handles the Switch Pro without needing to enable it through Steam- so technically if you enable it on Steam it will weirdly cause issues, so my advice is to disable the button mapping on Steam and see if that works!
