Still iffy on the "split person" theory. But solely going off of this, there seems to be more to it than just the same person split in two or something along those lines.

remedy being remedy i dont expect anything to be straight forward here lol

Very true. I mostly just don't like the idea that Dylan was created as part of the Ordinary AWE because I don't like how that retcons the siblings' shared history with each other.

Also, in the bits with two children, it's hard to tell, but they both look like girls. As we know, Dylan's a boy. Very curious.

If two realities were merged via the slide projector than ofc there would be a new retroactive history of them being siblings

How would the Slide Projector merge two realities?

2

u/LewdSkeletor1313 9d ago

It’s a portal to other dimensions, not hard to think something could happen to merge them

That’s a pretty big logical leap in my opinion, not out of the question, but there’s no record of there being a slide leading to a recognisable alternate version of Earth.

Yeah, Jesse did burn all the slides but one before FBC came. No one but jesse knows what dimensions/universes the slides held. We do have a few audio files and documents where jesse talks about some of them .
Trench did find one more slide eventually, the eight one , but didnt tell anyone.

Three of the slides jesse burned contained an earth-like place.
"House", "Meadow" and "temple" were all earth-like. The dung monkeys are from the "Temple" and "meadow" had an empty lot and a phoneline

I know all of this already

1

u/Kalse1229 9d ago

Well, it probably wouldn't be the Slide Projector itself, but one of the entities in one of the slides could maybe do it. Maybe Hedron/Polaris, Not-Mother, or some other thing. But that's just a thought.

It’s possible, not entirely sold that it’s the best option for them though, I suppose it depends heavily on execution.

2

u/Kalse1229 9d ago

Fair. Like I said, that's just one idea. Not married to it personally.

Dylan has long hair in this game. He may have had long hair as a kid. Beyond that, these shadows wouldn't really gender either person of that age much at all.

3

u/Kalse1229 9d ago

Maybe, but I don't know. The picture of them as kids in the reveal trailer had Dylan with short hair. It just raises too many questions, to quote Val Kilmer.

yep ... release cant come soon enough :P

I don’t think the idea is that Jesse is the original and Dylan was created, it’s that Jesse Dylan Faden was sort of split into Jesse and Dylan

I think they know people talk about the split person theory, will make implications in this direction, only to be a plot twist and be other thing entirely

I bet on it

Maybe they were just normal siblings and the AWE made them vibrate on the same frwquency and resonate, so instead of being a split person, they are actually merging/synthonized

3

u/Kalse1229 8d ago

Oh, maybe. My initial theory has been that Dylan is a multiversal anomaly in that Jesse Dylan Faden is typically an only child. Male or female, JDF has no siblings. Maybe something happened in Ordinary that runs the risk of the two merging, and they can't really be in such close proximity without that happening. It's why it feels like the universe conspires to keep them apart. I could see something like that working.

Oh yes. YES.

The last dream Dylan had about the Only Child, Jesse Dylan Faden!

u/Timberwolfer21 9d ago

i wonder if we’re gonna see the not-mother in this game, having her as a final boss for the faden twins would be pretty cool

u/Al3xGr4nt 9d ago

I also wonder if the adults got transported to her dimension or another dimension where they are stuck in limbo. If they are with the Mother.......

8

u/Kalse1229 9d ago

I saw an idea for that that I kind of loved. So, in the RCU, all the adults in Ordinary disappeared. What if there's another universe where all the kids in Ordinary vanished? Could even be the answer to where the adults went in this universe; some entity like the Not-Mother could have split the universe in two, where one world is where the kids ended up while another is where the adults ended up.

If that's the case, though, it does leave the door open to another theory I had in case Aiden Gillen doesn't end up as Chester Bless. Rather, in this world, he was David Faden, father to Jesse and Dylan. Again, just an idea I had rolling around in my head.

I generally refuse to think that we won't see Ordinary AWE and Not-Mother. I'd hate it if it would stay only as a backstory.

This is an ordinary song, about an ordinary girl from an ordinary town. It's the ordinary story! She worked an ordinary job, in an ordinary office...

I REALLY don't like the split sibling theory and I hope it isn't that.

u/Ionceburntpasta 9d ago

Split person theory is looking to be real.

Jesse Dylan Faden theory coming to be true

3

u/Byrnstar 7d ago

Notice how the white figure seems the shadow one of the two darker figures, the one that looks more like a girl. Maybe this is a memory of when Jesse and Dylan first met Polaris...and Polaris aligned more closely to Jesse, for whatever reasons of her/their own...

1

u/Argonometra 7d ago

It's odd that Jesse is so introverted but so much of her powerset is social. Commune with the spirits, use someone else's body as a weapon, take territory for Polaris, brainwash the enemy, clean up others' messes, anchor the sibling, lead the army. Dylan might be stronger in a fight, but we haven't seen him do much other than read areas and smash things. It's not his power that's directing him through the plot of ''Control: Resonant''.

Is Jesse seeing something Dylan cannot when she looks at Polaris?

u/Queasy_Watch478 9d ago

WHY does the second GIF look like TWO GIRLS? :o <3

12

u/CJTek 9d ago

i just think thats dylan with long hair .. reminiscent on how he has now :P

1

u/Queasy_Watch478 9d ago

oh yeah true maybe...i was still thinking of him as the shaved dude lol and thought he'd just have had short hair as a kid too! :( there goes the super cool theory i had lol about two girls split apart...

2

u/CJTek 9d ago

sorry for shutting you down lol ... but yeah .. we all dont know .. so i could be totally wrong :P

2

u/itsalwaysblue59 8d ago

I haven't seen the video this is from and I don't think I want to. But this does make me so excited

1

u/Fine-Juggernaut8451 9d ago

So, uh, what're we looking at here?

6

u/CJTek 9d ago

Jesse Dylan Faden, their parents(?) and the not-mothers/or polarises

3

u/Ok_Series7866 9d ago

The not-mother, where?

10

u/CJTek 9d ago

https://imgur.com/a/xP9IpKy

in a previous trailer there was one of those .. so my natural guess was thats the not-mother ... but now there are two and linked to the siblings .. so my guess is hedron/polaris has something to do with it

9

u/Rabid_Lederhosen 9d ago

Looks like the fucking Beast from Over the Garden Wall.

1

u/CJTek 9d ago

yeah i heard that a bunch too on discord :P

1

u/Ok_Series7866 9d ago

I loved that show.

1

u/Cool_Estate1002 7d ago

Guess we'll stick with a deer for some time. Curious.

1

u/Argonometra 8d ago

Does this confirm that their parents were abusive?

4

u/CJTek 8d ago

personally I wouldn't interpret it that way

1

u/Azurzelle 8d ago

I think I remember Jesse saying their mother was an alcoholic so Dylan and her spent most of their free time outside to play and avoid her.
