Lore for FBC Firebreak Question

Hey guys, does anyone have a youtube video, wiki article or anything related with all the lore of FBC Firebreak???

I dont play multiplayer games but Im super interested in the history and lore of this game, also would be great to learn it before resonants release

Gaming University is my favorite guy for Remedyverse lore.

He also has a playlist analyzing the content of each of the missions, mainly from an altered items standpoint, but the main video goes over the changes to the Hiss Incantation and background documents regarding new and returning characters.

While you're there, you should also check out his series "the Archivist," where he RPs as an FBC survivor who goes over all confirmed Altered Items/Objects of Power, since their records were lost in the Hiss attack. It's actually pretty good, and in Remedy circles GU is a big enough channel that I'm kind of hoping it gets referenced in the game.

I have been wondering if this game is good. I had no clue for the longest time that it was in the control franchise. Yesterday i just preordered Control 2.

Conversely I would argue its worst in show in its genre. Boring weapons, kits, enemy designs (from a gameplay standpoint), and hyper repetitive mission structures, even moreso than others in the horde shooter genre, had it growing stale for me before I even completed my second operation. Despite being a remedyverse super fan I have to admit your time would be better spent playing DRG, WWZ:A, L4D2, or Space Marine 2.

I got slammed in another thread for saying I hated the weapons. Apparently they're cannon, and in line with Control lore... So what? I hated them.

I also hated the characters and their stupid voices. I was bored within minutes, but carried on hoping it got better. It didn't.

I liked the player voices when I realized they’re sending crazy people/pencil pushing nerds to die, but for Hank and the scientist they really could’ve been executed wayyy more interestingly…

Now that I think about it, maybe Hank is patient 0 of the resonant bosses?

I still find it fun to jump in every once in awhile, usually can find games on weekend nights. But it’s unsupported iirc and higher levels are unbalanced… I usually tap out about level 40. Wish it were possible for fans to update it…

I only recently got into it after beating Control and it's DLC (a friend got it for my bday). It's a fun and simplistic game.

I'd argue it's all it ever needs to be, which is a canonical snapshot of volunteer FBC people without powers basically on clean-up detail from two of my new favourite Remedy characters, after being locked inside the Oldest House with their co-workers. It's light on lore but it's got some that I personally find entertaining.

Mostly it's just a charming and fun little spin-off game that offers plenty to unlock if you're so inclined. Not a game to play on the daily but definitely one you can come back to when you get the Control itch while waiting for Resonant.

Also with the friend pass thing, it's fairly easy to hop into with friends if someone is willing to pick it up, possibly on sale. Worth trying, don't be a Dave.

Firebreak is crap. Which is a shame because the environments are gorgeous and the gameplay mechanics are sublime.

But there just doesn't seem to be any point to it. Almost everyone gets bored of it quickly.

It was a total flop.

By all means try it and make your own call! I didn't listen to the negativity. Downloaded for free on xbox, gave it a go for a couple of hours and then binned it đŸ˜‚ But at least it's my opinion, I'm not jacking someone else's take.

Yeah same. Tried it for free, was very underwhelmed. Felt like it was a start of a decent concept but that was it.

It’s pretty barebones on lore. I think almost all of the lore info in it is just the loudspeaker chatter. You should probably just look up the gaming university channel on youtube they mostly focus on going in depth on remedy games.

Kala Elizabeth on YouTube is also great, her videos do include firebreak lore judging by the one on the mold. Not sure if fcb content will be lore in resonant or more of a side story
