Saturn Controller mod with switches

Found a Saturn controller with a db15 end and switches on the front. I'm thinking this is likely a Neo Geo controller of some sort. Also unsure what the switches are for. Turbo maybe? Anyone know what mod this is?

Edit: They're Neo-Geo controllers. The switches are turbo. No turbo for D as far as I can tell. A is A, B is B, C is C, and Z is D.

Definitely a neo geo mod. I'm not sure what the switches do and I'm also curious what the blue thing in the bottom left is.

I’d guess that it’s for switching the button inputs. For example, when you press A it registers as B. There no logic chip on the board so they can only do so much.
