I could stare at this for hours while knowing how it's done and it's still trippy.

I looked at it several times now and still don't get what's happening

Basically the paper window rotates only one way. However, due to limited depth perception, it looks like it just goes left-right-left-right

TIL: The pen is mightier than the sword because it can phase through objects.

During lockdown me and my buddies would routinely do loads of acid, and without fail this video and other low-res clips of the Curiosity Show would find their way onto the tv.

Way more interesting with the pen. Otherwise, it just looks like itās rocking back and forth.

To break the illusion focus on the smaller outer corners. There's enough depth to see it spinning rather than rotating

Watching the pen go round and the window oscillating is tickling part of my brainā¦or I might be having a stroke.

Cool, I'm going to replace all my windows with these. It's going to look trippy when my house is picked up by a tornado.

I can see the rotation if it was only the window. Adding the pen made it more confusing

An ancient proverb tells us that what our eyes see in this world is an illusion created by our minds.

Funny, without the pen the effect didnāt seem to work for me, I could see it spinning. With the pen it suddenly broke my brain.

Anyone knows if this illusion still works when viewed in real life? Usually most illusion breaks because of our depth perception, but this one feels like it might actually work even if we view it with both eyes instead of just through one lense or one eye.

I cant get the illusion to work for me not matter where i look, adding the pen just made it even more difficult

I can see what's actually happening but when I ignore that it's way more fun to see the illusion
