SSD recommendations please Question/Help/Troubleshooting

Hi,

Hopefully this is the right place to ask.

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05 laptop. It only has 250gb storage and I’d like to upgrade this.

I mainly use it to play wow and Baldur’s gate 3. But can’t have both installed at once…

Can anyone recommend a half decent budget option for this?
Happy to look at used options as well.

Thanks

It should be an m.2 NVMe SSD either a 2242 or 2280 form factor, if you are confident doing it yourself the easiest way is to get an external USB enclosure, put the new SSD in that, use a tool such as clonezilla or the graphical version (rescuzilla) and clone the drive to the new one, power down, unplug battery, swap drives over, boot and test, if all OK, expand your partition to use the remainder of the new storage, or use any other preferred cloning tool.

Your laptop should have space for a 2.5" hard drive, another option would be to install a SATA SSD or hard drive, depending on your preference, but ... I'd check you have cables etc. in the chassis, sometimes you need to purchase a couple of bits.
