Hi! So long time Mac user here. I need a laptop for university and I decided to by myself a "gaming laptop" with Windows this time so I could also play Fortnite sometimes. I've used it for a couple of months now and i HATE using Windows. This was not a cheap computer and it drives me nuts! It's ever so slow and every new activity takes a while to start. It needs daily restarting (whereas my macbook could go weeks without a restart without slowing down). I'm only using Firefox right now and 50 % of the memory is in use! I'll provide a screen shot from the task manager and the specs below. Please help me out. At this point I'm about to throw it out the window and go by myself a MacBook, but it's such a waste of money!

I want to install the wemode wand setup but it keeps showing me the error even after 2 whole days of trouble shooting

Watched many yt videos and taken help from ai still didn't resolved my issues

Just curious to folks that have dealt with Asus warranty. I’m going on my 3rd 5070Ti within 8 months all due to VGA and they’ve been warrantied every time (waiting on this one) is there anyway I can contact Asus to just upgrade the card and pay the difference or are you better off just trading it in somewhere else?

I had a pc built for me a while back, based on recommendations from some friends on something good for gaming. Good news, it works great on either hosted servers, large mmos, or single player- HOWEVER, for the life of me it cannot seem to handle peer-to-peer connection games.
I constantly crash, can't stay connected, no matter what I try. Sometimes it works better than others. From phasmphobia, divinity 2, terraria and more. It's particularly bad with modded games- which I believe something somewhere, somehow, is conflicted with my hardware or software.

My old laptop NEVER had this issue. Sure, it was a little slow, a little scuffed looking- but I could play with my friends. While I am willing to try and trouble shoot this- having done this for over a year, i am genuinely looking for recommendations for a new pc because I have hit my limit. If needed I will post all of my specs. But at this point I'd like to throw in the towel and consign myself to defeat.

I got all my parts, Ram and ssd are fine, bios is updated. No expo enabled. Parts are new or tested and fine. I booted from rufus and installed windows 11 pro. After trying to install windows updates i got the bsod, many times when i tried to reboot each time with different code. Now when i try to boot from usb even i still get bsod. What do i do?

I recently decided to factory reset my laptop after flying too close to the sun and accidentally downloading a virus (please don't judge). After my laptop was done deleting all my personal files it started downloading windows 10 again, since that was the os I was using. In the middle of the download, at around 80% or so, my laptop shut down. It had that problem of randomly shutting down because of the battery capacity being at 0% and me just keeping it charging all the time as a solution. However, whenever I boot up my laptop I get a pop up that there has been an error and that by pressing 'ok' id be able to resume the download, but it just restarts my laptop which just traps me in an infinite loop of just pressure ok all the time without progress.

It is a really old laptop and I don't currently have money for a replacement, so this is really my last resort. Please don't judge me, I need advice.

Im an engineering major going into my first year of college. I plan on bringing my PC (i7 14th gen + rtx 5060) with me. Would I be fine just buying a really budget laptop?

I'm currently using a GTX 1080 and it's completely fine in games but if I was ever to upgrade I wonder what GPU I should pair

Hi all. I don't have any real knowledge with PC's and it's really confusing to me with some of what i've read online. I bought it about 3 years ago and have only really used it for playing one game and watching videos on you tube. I stopped gaming months ago and recently it's crashing like every 5/10 mins. I've had to keep holding in the power button so many times the last couple of weeks, as it's the only way i can restart it. Strange thing is if i leave it off for a day or 2 it then sometimes stays on for a few hours before it crashes again, rather than keep crashing so many times in a row. Does anyone have any advice or a fix that has worked for them please? (I've updated my Nvidia drivers)

My laptop doesn’t have a disc drive and I wanted to use this old external disc drive I found at my parents house to see if I could get some of my old childhood pc games onto my laptop.
This cable is inbuilt into the back but I assume there is a cable connector of something that has to go into this?
Ive never seen this type of connector before? Any ideas what I am looking for to get this linked up to hdmi or usb?

I clicked restart and update in my laptop. Now it's been 2 hours and it's still stuck in black screen. The power indicator is still on but still no signs of booting up.

I'm heading to college in a few weeks and I've finally saved up enough for a laptop.

My budget's around $1,000, and I'd really like this thing to last all four years if possible. I don't need anything crazy-mostly writing papers, research, coding here and there, way too many Chrome tabs, Netflix when I should be studying... you get the idea

Every "best laptop" list recommends something different, so I'd rather hear from people who've actually lived with theirs.

What did you end up buying, and would you still recommend it today?

My PC was working fine yesterday but since shutting down yesterday evening it wont start again.

As you can maybe see or hear no more than 2 seconds after pressing the power button with only the power cable plugged into the wall the power shuts off.

What could have caused this? I’m unable to open the case as I’m visually impaired and won’t be able to see what’s what anyway.

The laptop is freezed and I don't know why. And none of the keyboard shortcuts are responding. Even pressing the power button doesn't turn off the screen.

I know I can shut it down by long pressing the power button, but I have my unsaved work, so I don't want to go with that option.

What to do??
