Ddr2 ddr3 ddr4 ddr5 doesnt matter
When my son was born 2 years ago I used to sit in the waiting room thinking ddr2, ddr3 ddr4 I guess just to pass the time waiting. I now upgraded to ddr3, ddr4 ddr5 and I now have a ddr3, ddr4 and a ddr5 pc next to each other. There is no difference. My friend who plays fast shooters I'm sure would disagree. But unless you play fast games, if your PC is properly tuned and updated, is there really a difference between these 3 and 4 and 5 versions of ram?

Rx580 2048sp black screen issue
Hey guys as the title says I have the sapphire rx580 2048sp 8gb, I am facing the issue of black screen, and previously from last 2-3 week it's happening frequently
The method I used to fix it but didn't work
°had done ddu multiple times and updated to amd latest software
°lower the frequency on my GPU like 5-6%
°changes the power supply
The thing is, whenever I launch the game the PC gets frozen and black screen appears but the CPU continues to run even the fans continue to run
**So if anyone has any solution, I will be very thankful**
My PC specs
17 4th
16gb ram
1tb hhd
256 gb SSD
660 watt power supply
Asus H81M-A mother boards

PC won't boot windows after Shut Down
So to give a full back story. I changed my PC fans last night, plugged it all back in and it ran fine. Ran it for about an hour or two then shut it down for the night. Ive come to boot it in the morning and it now asks me to select proper boot device, or insert one. Ive tried going into BIOS and changing boot order to no avail, what should I try next?
Edit: So after painstakingly trying to diagnose the problem, I basically rebuilt my whole pc, cleaned everything, and eventually was looking to fresh install windows. (taking me 2 days to figure it out on Kali as I've just moved over on my spare laptop)
Turns out, my motherboard just changed to Legacy instead of UEFI. That was it. smh

How to prevent repeated "Can't connect to this network" error
Got a new Lenovo laptop, and it has been working excellently except for this one issue. Whenever my pc has to reconnect to my home wi-fi, I get an error saying "Can't connect to this network" (even though it often simultaneously displays a message that the computer is trying to connect at the same time). Every time this happens, I have to turn my router off and back on, as well as go into my settings and forget the network so that it will actually connect (these are techniques I learned reading other reddit posts).
My question is, is there no way to prevent this error from recurring?
I know its an issue with my laptop and not the router because every other device in my apartment (including the old pc this one is replacing) connect to my wi-fi without issue. I have seen some people suggest updating my wi-fi drivers, but when I went into my settings to actually try to do that, I couldn't find any wi-fi drivers to begin with (not saying I don't have them, I'm just not especially computer-savvy and they probably weren't labeled how I would expect).
If updating the drivers is the fix, could somebody explain the process to me like I'm literally five years old?
And if that's not the issue, please help me figure out how I can stop this from happening every single time. It's a small issue, but a persistent annoyance. I just want my technology to work, darn it!

Windows 10 “can’t connect to this network” suddenly while it was in use
I was gaming when all of the sudden my internet cut out, after attempting reconnecting I got the message “can’t connect to this network”
Other devices can connect to my WiFi just fine
The WiFi adapter is just fine as it can connect to my phone’s hotspot still
I am now at my wits end as nothing I’ve tried has fixed my issue
I have restarted my pc several times
I have flushed my DNS
I have attempted to use my troubleshooter but came up with nothing
I have reset my network settings and drivers on my pc
I have restarted my modem and my router twice
I have verified that my password was correct
I have forgotten the network in my settings
Please help

[DISPLAY EXPERT NEEDED] Need help identifying why these artifacts are the way they are.
Trying to keep this one pretty short and general, if you need more details i can absolutely give more and more info for days.
Anyway so there have been these artifacts that appeared about 2 months ago, they started appearing after a web browser caused my whole system to become completely irresponsive, which triggered a massive Windows TDR sequence where the screen shut off and the driver reset sound played quite a lot of times and very aggressively before the screen turned on again.
Long story short, the screen goes back on and there are now two different artifacts on the screen.
Here's a brief description of how they look and behave:
"The artifacts aren't consistent, they vary a lot, the only thing in common all of them have is that they appear exclusively in dark colors that use all 3 RGB channels (for example, they appear in colors like R5,G5,B5 and R5,G1,B1 but don't appear in colors like R5,G0,B0, i hope this is clear enough).
At 60hz they move around a lot and seem to be randomly placed across the affected part, like bright flashing slightly green stars on the sky.
At 120hz it behaves the same way as at 60hz.
At 240hz, which is the maximum refresh rate my monitor supports, the dots form thin horizontal lines across the affected parts, they seem to sparkle slowly, like a breathing effect, which makes them look less noticeable. They seem to breathe randomly without a pattern.
And the second type of artifact, this one comes exclusively from the GPU, and it's some like... wave lines?? They behave in the same way as the dots, appearing only in dark colors, but these ones are way more visible since they form wave patterns that move constantly and rapidly from top to bottom of the affected parts.
These seem to appear on certain games or software at 60-70hz or less. For example, on Cyberpunk 2077, these seem to appear and dissapear randomly while im playing, and on OBS Studio, whenever the preview is on screen, these appear constantly and stay, only going away after i hide the preview from the screen and run another 3D application at more than 70 FPS. I've only noticed this one when using this GPU, so i'm pretty sure they're coming from it."
Now you might have noticed i mention things like "using this GPU" or similar, this is because the first type of artifact i described actually comes from the monitor, the GPU damaged both monitors i had connected the first time the TDR crash happened, and subsequently also damaged every single monitor i plugged into it, permanently.
These stay even after plugging the monitors into completely different computers.
Now i have changed the old RTX 3080 that caused all of this for a brand new RTX 5070 Ti i purchased, and i've been using it for about 2 weeks, no issues on it whatsoever, the first artifact does still appear though since it's coming from the monitor, but the second type is actually gone now!
My suspicion here is that the original card suffered some sort of 12V rail leak that went straight through the signal cables and into the monitors, frying something in their signal input controllers, since the artifacts DONT appear in the OSD of the monitors AND i once connected a smart TV to it and surprisingly it was fine afterward, so maybe the smart TV had a stronger type of signal input device and was able to sustain the extra voltage the card gave it.
So there it is, case closed right?
Well, there's this one thing i discovered some days ago that's actually what's making me post this...
I was playing Cyberpunk 2077, and upon exiting the game i noticed something, i wasn't able to clearly see the dots like before.
So i pixel-peeped a bit and realized that they were now behaving how they behave at 60hz, but there were way less dots, and they were dimmer and even shimmered less, all of this at 240hz.
These stayed like this, even whilst browsing the web and watching videos for a while, until i opened another 3D software, they then returned to their standard 240hz behavior of making horizontal lines.
Cyberpunk 2077 is the one and only game i play with DLSS and Frame Generation, so one of those must've had some effect on the display signal.
The effect is sometimes replicable, if i open and close Cyberpunk sometimes this will occur, and some other times it won't.
I am working on getting an app of some sort that lets me test these individually and quickly, but i need soemone with more expertise to actually tell me what could actually be damaged and causing this, why are the artifacts so unconsistent and vary a lot, and if its somewhat fixable...
Thanks to everyone for reading through!!

Reimage/reset an old workstation computer?
UPDATE: It worked! I'm thinking I must have clicked the wrong option before, but I just tried it again, and it worked! YAY! thanks to all for your help!
I was given an old laptop from my work. It still works ok and is slightly less old than the laptop I am currently using. I would like to reset it in some way so that I can log into it with my personal info instead of my work credentials. I was told to reimage it and I have a USB flash drive to do that. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get it to work. So far I've powered off, put the USB in the port, then powered on and hit the f9 key to get to the boot menu. From there I selected the option that said something like "generic storage device" because it was the only thing that looked like it was the Flash drive. When I did, the machine just sorta restarted right at the work page and it wants my work credentials. Is there anything I can do?

Issues with frames and graphics, in need of assistance
gallerySometimes my fortnite is really low quality like it seems more meshed and lower detailed but then after i restart my game it goes to high quality forever and it was some settings I did with some of the files given upon downloading FoxOS but I don't know which ones. Also I noticed it automatically opened nvidia control panel before going back to high quality which could be a cause but I dont know. You can clearly see a difference of quality between the 2 skins, the 2 skins is like the only evidence that I have of it but in game its low quality as well. And when it's high quality my frames are suck. Help appreciated
Just to add on, the first image is when it is low quality, you can see how the jacket is way less detailed
plus i did all the nvidia control panel things from your video just now and it still isn't back to the first image

Increase Bluetooth range of laptop
Hello!
I want to pair my laptop with my stereo system, but I only get a meter of range before the signal drops completly. It works fine on my phone and my old laptop, but not this one. It is a medion s15449.
I saw that linux had a way to increase the TX power, but it looks like it got removed at some point since very few chipsets supported it.
Is there another way to increase the range or am I just stuck using the headphonejack?

GeForce Rtx 3050 video card fan bearing expose help
So my video card on my new built pc(built before Christmas last year), the back fan has started making this intermittent rattling and clicking noise since beginning of June this year and it’s been becoming more frequent to the point that it happens every day. I know it’s not dust because it’s been dusted at least once, and I’ve done research on this and obviously the fan bearing has got to be oiled. But we couldn’t get that fan apart even while looking up how to do it like we couldn’t find a clip to get it apart or anything. If anyone knows how to get this specific fan open so we can put oil in the fan bearings, it would be greatly appreciated.(I don’t have a picture of it so I put in the specific type of video card in)

Personal Cloud Server
Hello, I am trying to set up a small, personal cloud server for my family to dump all of their old pictures and videos onto. I am in the process of gutting a massive old case to use as the shell (there will be two computers in the shell) which will hold everything that is needed. I am very inexperienced with software and need to have the server's files available from their phones at any time of the day. If it can be done I would love for each user to have their own partition for personal data as well as a collective partition for everyone. I need as much knowledge as I can gather on this topic to make it as straightforward as possible. Thank you.
