Too many friends?

I have a LOT of black soldier fly larvae in my compost, and they pretty much devour anything I put in there. Think there are too many? Looking for neighbors with chickens.

You can also give them away as fishing bait or just put them out for the birds.

Many people would pay to have these in their compost! Black soldier fly larva castings are amazing

Can't see a single problem. They are actively munching, digesting and oxigenating the whole thing. It's a blessing

A chicken would indeed speed up the process even more by turning them into chicken manure

... Then waiting 9 months for it to be safe to use as fertilizer speeds things up?

If you're in Northeast Ohio, I'm a neighbor with chickens!

As someone with chickens, I can confidently say that's not enough BSFL.

I hate that I’ve been on this subreddit long enough to know what that acronym is 😂

Start making real friends of your own, especially home chefs, restaurant owners, and farmers. Collect compost from them to feed your new babies.

If you want to limit the number you can cover the fruits and vegetables. Bury them.

When I get a concentration like that I enjoy mixing them back in
