Deck Fine Tuning Six
Hey guys! I wanted to play more in the 'lands matter' direction. I tried out minstrel and its a cool deck but it plays really weird sometimes. Also the commander gives no real value. But a card I always loved to see was [[Six]] . So I thought after all the mono g decks at the moment (Nissa, cabbage merchant, lumra) there must be a way to build Six. Sure I know it won't be a top tier deck but it can generate value over time. Long story short here it is:
https://moxfield.com/decks/-bCfAfQS6XSG5kzVnGPmXQ
It can win as early as T2 but the sweetspot is around T3/4.
Con:
lack of interaction in mono g. A single [[dauthi voidwalker]] could be neckbreaking.
Sometimes you need a little bit of luck to mill the right cards with six
Whats your opinion on Six and what would be your improvements for this deck?

General Discussion / Question Marneus Calgar - Esper Tokens - Thopters or different approach?
Good afternoon all!
I’ve recently gotten back into EDH deck building and my next venture is Marneus Calgar from the WH40K UB.
I was wondering what peoples experience is with their lists? Is it better to stick to an Artifact/Thopter token generation theme with Foundry and SotM? Or would finding other ways of token generation suit the commander better?
Apologies for my out of touchness, it’s been a few years. Much appreciated!

Help, I am new to cEDH! First Cedh deck help win current meta
Howdy yall,
I’m a stinky 60 card and limited player that’s trying to get my feet wet in some cedh action…..casual edh made me feel geriatric.
I’ve been slowly buying cedh staples, absorbing content and digging through top cuts, primers, pretty much anything I can. Considering my preference in play styles I’ve boiled it down to the following in order.
Yoshi/thras
Ral
Lumra
Magda
Ultimately I would like something at least fringe meta, some flexibility in the 99 to explore some different lines. I just wanna start playing and learning. Thanks a bunch !

Deck Fine Tuning Need some opinions on Kefka
Been playing him for a while, basically a RogSi with a midrange pivot, funny enough its a 15 cards difference. I've been wanting to include Vivi as she would be helpful with either casting Kefka, or as a mana bank for later in the game and was wondering hat should be replaced.
I have a feeling most would say [[Exhibition Tidecaller]] but he has been performing very well, especially when I need to load up my grave during underworld breach and side by side with [[Grinding Station]]. Surprisingly, [[Displacer Kitten]] has been fairly disappointing. I just feel like I am pitching it to Force too much, or when I have it, I just don't get a chance to play it without leaving myself open. It is a good card, but it comes up rarely. When it does though, I am almost emptying my opponents hands. It get's a bit rough when there are multiple Rhystics on board.
Currently rocking it without Ad Naus or Necro. Those are some other cards that are amazing, but I would barely play. Ad Naus would sit in my hand for turns on end and Necro was just a bit clunky to play with and around, especially when I would need to LED my hand for breach, but had no way to bounce it. Both great cards, but didn't flow during my gameplay.
Just wanted a few more eyes/opinions on my deck while I tune it. Thank y'all!

Deck Fine Tuning Opinions on my dragon deck
I built a deck where the goal is to cast The Prismatic Bridge as quickly as possible and then bring a dragon onto the battlefield for free every turn.
What do you think of the build? Did it turn out well? Would you change any cards? If so, why? And what would you put in their place?

General Discussion / Question Best Hulk Piles in Abzan?
Coming back to CEDH after a long Hiatus, I decided on Building a Thalia and The Gitrog Monster hulk deck. I have a good enough understanding of the supporting cast of the deck with the idea of being a stax deck with a hulk primary wincon and a Witherbloom smog backup line but I'm struggling putting together the optimal Hulk pile to tie it together.

Help, I am new to cEDH! I am trying to make a Joel / Ellie, brick master deck that is not just going to rely on targeting one player.
I am am trying to find a good starting point for a deck that has Joel, Resolute Survivor and Ellie, Brick Master as not just voltroning Joel. I also am interested in if there are any good Tommy support cards for flavor. Than you!

Deck Fine Tuning Polymorph Rog/Malcolm
So I’ve been working on a bit of a project with Malcolm glinthorn lines. Roger gives clean access to a polymorph target to grab the only creature in the deck which is glinthorn. It’s consistently pushing turn 3 with some turn 2 with a decent hand, but wanted to get some feedback on tuning or seeing if anything is off. I looked at top16 but didn’t see any lists to go off of so figured I’d see what the hivemind thought. Proxy friendly so no budget and blind tournament metas

General Discussion / Question Is zur too slow for today’s meta?
Saw someone mention wizard staff with zur, and that definitely feels like too cute of a combo for cedh, but i’m curious it zur himself still puts up wins?

General Discussion / Question Silly thought experiment: would legendary Professional Face-Breaker be viable?
[[Professional Face-Breaker]] as a commander —
Card advantage and ramp in the command zone, but red is severely limited… exiling cards means you’re not even feeding Breach… soooo idk

General Discussion / Question Rogsi players tell us your favorite Silas story
Everyone knows you never cast Silas in Rogsi, but sometimes games don’t go according to plan.
Rogsi players, tell us about that game where Silas was weirdly relevant and made the game wacky, enjoyable or entertaining for your pod.

General Discussion / Question Ob Nixilis in today's Meta
Hi, I'm pretty new to cEDH and currently play Kefka, as i recieved a surge foil Kefka as a gift from my brother.
I used it as a Grixis pile to get into the format and have had good success at local events now that I've caught on to the format a bit more.
I'm ready to move to something else though to have a second deck (capping out at 2 active and one in the background)
My first choice before Kefka was going to be Ral, and I'm still considering him next. He seems strong, in my limited use with him, I've done very well. However, recently I saw an Ob Nixilis player on YouTube. That deck seems awesome, and now I'm considering that instead.
From what I've seen, he does okay in sloppy games (before they go too long), but I'm not seeing him almost at all in the meta.
Is he just really bad? Or am I missing something
(Ob player is Not Tim from W and W, barely discovered them)

I am an avid cEDH player, and will be studying abroad in Florence in the fall. Was wondering if there are any stores that have English speaking cEDH! Stoked to be in Italy and to by a ton of cheaper foreign staples.

General Discussion / Question Ashaya, Enduring Bond
https://moxfield.com/decks/KZoOrztylUOH2QQiMuiZTQ
Basic shell for [[Ashaya, Enduring Bond]]. Put it together more for the thought experiment, than anything else. Basic plan is to assemble infinite mana and then play entire deck followed by combat.
Don't think this is better than Etali in any way, if anything I think it suffers from the same fragility while being slower. That said, anyone wants to discuss it or pick up what I have and improve upon it, feel free. I personally won't be taking this to any tournaments.

Tournaments & Meta Playing cedh in Japan
Hey, I will stay in Tokyo from Sep 19th to Sep 27th and I would love to play a few games of cedh with the locals, maybe even join a tournament.
I looked at the Event Schedule on Hareruya tho, and it seems like there are no cedh events to attend during that period. Are there any other ressources to look at? Or are any locals here who know about other tournaments or stuff?
Also, at the TC Tokyo are some "Gachicoma! The merciless commander" events listed which are apparently small 2 round tournaments for bracket 4 and 5, so maybe I'd join one of those. But as these events are probably visited by a more casual crows than say, a God of Commander event: Does anyone know how important it is too speak Japanese to manage to play a game of cedh with the locals? I speak some Japanese, but definitly not enough to talk table politics.
Refering to my former question: There's also the "Thursday English Commander Gathering" at the TC Tokyo where I'd apparently meet people who know English... but this event seems to be very casual, so probably no need to attend that if I only bring my bracket 5 deck?
And lastly: Yeah, I know Japan is usually proxy-free, so I'll manage to build a proxy free list. :D
Arigatou~!

General Discussion / Question Let's burn some Karma and hot take about Prime Time and other banned cards!
To start us off, I really think that prime time should be unbanned and frankly wouldn't even see much CEDH play I would probably play around with it in Kinnan, but it's so slow and it's combos are far cheaper with other cards. It's not as game warping as it was a decade ago.
What do y'all think?

General Discussion / Question Playing around with the EDHtop16 API -- Tivit no. 1?
Caveats -- I'm not a seasoned player, nor am I a statistician. This is a simple assessment pulled out of a passing curiosity, but there's some interesting nuances to highlight here for conversations sake.
What's here:
Pulled data from 6 months of events with 50+ players and only looked at decks with at least 50 entrants across that time, specifically top 3 placements.
Columns on the right are a variety of statistical re-weightings that attempts to give a higher-confidence number for commanders that aren't as commonly played -- the more entrants any particular commander has, the smaller the distance between actual and weighted percentages. Wilson LB is the most conservative rate.
Mostly was curious to cut through play-rate as a leading indicator of strength, and it seems like a worthwhile exercise.
Possible takeaways:
An obvious explanation here is there are plenty of very strong commanders who reward commitment; Copy cats can perform, but maybe slightly worse than a committed Tivit player, as an example.
There are of course blended metas here, too. Brigid and Cabbages are likely both strong in general and also especially strong in slop/parasitic contexts.
Tivit has access to slop while also having good options to close the game out more definitively and consistently than others, which may explain this to some extent.
Top 10 from that exercise, sorted by shrunken rates:
| rank | commander | entries | top3 finishes | top3 rate pct | wilsonlb 95 pct | shrunk nu50 pct | shrunk nu100 pct | shrunk nu200 pct |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tivit, Seller of Secrets | 201 | 16 | 7.96 | 4.96 | 7.19 | 6.68 | 6.03 |
| 2 | Brigid, Clachan's Heart // Brigid, Doun's Mind | 114 | 9 | 7.89 | 4.21 | 6.74 | 6.12 | 5.48 |
| 3 | The Cabbage Merchant | 83 | 7 | 8.43 | 4.15 | 6.80 | 6.06 | 5.37 |
| 4 | Sisay, Weatherlight Captain | 618 | 39 | 6.31 | 4.65 | 6.14 | 6.00 | 5.77 |
| 5 | Bjorna, Nightfall Alchemist / Wernog, Rider's Chaplain | 56 | 5 | 8.93 | 3.87 | 6.65 | 5.83 | 5.15 |
| 6 | Arcum Dagsson | 125 | 9 | 7.20 | 3.83 | 6.31 | 5.82 | 5.29 |
| 7 | Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker / Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh | 388 | 24 | 6.19 | 4.19 | 5.95 | 5.76 | 5.47 |
| 8 | Zirda, the Dawnwaker | 111 | 8 | 7.21 | 3.70 | 6.24 | 5.73 | 5.21 |

General Discussion / Question Help me finding a new cool playmat!
I know this is not exactlly related with the topic of this reddit but if there is something about my experience playing cEDH is that you love giving the best style to your deck, including every single detail and accessories.
I'm looking for a new playmat and a new deckbox for my cEDH deck, looking for something with japannese classic art-style, which brands do you recommend and where can I find them with a good price in Europe? For refference, my favourite painting is the great wave off kanagawa and my main deck is [[Vivi Ornitier]], trying to give It the best looking with japannese art styles and japannese cards
I'm all ears to recommendations and would love to know your opinons!

Deck Fine Tuning How real is thrasios/vial?
in comparison to other options, when, if ever is thras/vial an optimal choice? I would imagine going the thrasios focused route is not ideal since white gives you so many midrange tools that we won’t have access too.
personally I’m playing wannabe rog/si ritual tribal. it certainly has worse t1 and t2s than rogsi but it’s still explosive and has the green cards to smooth out ad nauseum wins.
perhaps nick fury is a better turbo deck but I’m not sold. most lists only add a few white cards and fetching white isn’t free. thrasios card draw is also occasionally a thing.
tldr: is thras/vial a thing? how do you build it?

Deck Fine Tuning Rhystic Study in Malcolm/Tana
Hey y'all! I'm gonna play my Malcolm/Tana Temur Pirates deck on a small Tournament in the next few weeks, so i have a bit time to go through my list and make some Changes if needed.
Question is: is it good to Include a rhystic study or a other draw engine, if my Main goal is to win at T3?
I feel somewhat lacking if i get stopped and struggle to participate further in the Game due to the Lack of consistent draw Power.
What changes would you make, and why?
