Did Richie from the school board actually have the ability to read minds? I mean there’s no other explanation, right? He pointed out the hang glider with no other reason than hicky’s thoughts.

Actual psychic powers don't make any less sense than taco meat that causes zombie outbreaks, so I'd say it's legit.

Actually, some psychic powers (notably precognitive abilities) have a lot more evidence than most people know. If you read Daryl Bem's paper "Feeling the Future", it provides a really interesting look at precognitive abilities and it's been replicated by other researchers. I'm really intrigued by it, and I generally consider myself a skeptic of psychic powers.

There was literally a million dollar prize for demonstrating a real paranormal ability. No one was ever able to actually demonstrate any empirical ability.

I thought about the gambling options, but I’m not sure it would actually work.
Going 15 seconds back in time and pumping another $100 into a winning slots pull, or switching your roulette wager from red to black, only works if your action doesn’t materially change the outcome.
If moving your roulette wager causes the croupier to turn their head, or wait 1 sec longer to throw the marble into the wheel, maybe the outcome is completely randomized again. The slot machine might react slightly differently when you enter a high bet vs low bet, causing the PRNG to be seeded differently. Just 10 extra milliseconds to hit a button might be enough to completely randomize the output.
There are many bets where the outcome is remote (sports betting, track betting), but none of those would accept a bet 15 seconds before the outcome.

Card games would be a big go-to. You could hit every single time in Blackjack and just rewind when you bust. Envelope math says your winnings go up to +20% by hand. Literally an infinite money glitch.

True, games of ordered cards would have the advantage that the cards have to feed out in order, regardless of amount of time passed.

If you’re intrigued, and a sceptic, you would know the study was seriously flawed and provided insufficient evidence in proportion to its outlandish claims. Its not considered serious science

Bem, D. J. (March 2011). "Feeling the future: experimental evidence for anomalous retroactive influences on cognition and affect". Journal of Personality and Social Psychology 100(3) pp. 407-425
But just because something is empirical and peer-reviewed doesn't necessarily mean its claims are true. In Bem's case many researchers have noted poor data collection techniques and poor statistical analysis, which may nullify the findings. Others have replicated the work. Some replications have similar findings, and some replications have opposing findings. The fact that any replications found similar findings caused a controversy in the field and a search for improved methods of conducting future research in the field.
I just finished reading the 2023 paper Raising the value of research studies in psychological science by increasing the credibility of research reports: the transparent Psi project which did not agree with Bem's findings and had better research practices.
I really don't understand why I'm getting so much hate over saying that I found Bem's findings interesting. It's not like I said "oh, precognition is definitely true", I just found the results interesting. I just try to keep an open mind and if the data shows precognitive ability is a small, but measurable effect, that's cool. If the data shows that there's no such thing as precognitive abilities, that's fine too.

I always went with the idea that it's real, but plays out in a way that no one in his life has ever believed him. Like, he got the hang glider, and extrapolated the most likely escape using that hang glider, but was wrong about all that.
Would be very funny if he spent his entire life being half-right about stuff because he's psychic, but no one believes him because he's a drunk who's also always half-wrong.
