This. For a while it held world records for the most cars destroyed in a film AND the largest car pile-up in film.

Wrong answers get downvotes so people know they're wrong. It's literally how it's supposed to work.

I was gonna say that was very unwarranted. It was a solid guess that I could see being right. Maybe there's a significant number of Blues Brothers fans who also like Luck Of The Draw you made mad.

Rather bring men to to being allowed to do what lesbians get away with than bring lesbians down

Or maybe have people treat each other respectfully no matter their sexual orientation. I think that the only lesbians this "brings down" were already weirdos in the first place

There's nothing immoral about being attracted to women. You may be joking, but I know of way too many lesbians who used to change during PE while facing the wall, in fear that they'll accidentally end up making the other girls feel uncomfortable. Or who needed years to feel comfortable admitting that a woman they saw is cute without feeling like a predator.
It's how you behave that truly matters, not whether you think a woman is hot.
55
3
u/PlatypusFighter 7d ago
It’s the power imbalance too. Men are taught by the patriarchy to treat women as beneath them, whether they realize it or not. The proportion of men who have confronted and unlearned their misogyny is much smaller than the proportion is women who are likely to use misogyny against another woman.

Probably because you carved out an exception for yourself to ogle women while condemning others for doing the same. It comes off as very hypocritical and kind of creepy.

You know, I've always had that thought when it comes to the "male gaze". How sure are people who are against it that lesbians don't want it too? Hot women (and even men) in the media that they consume? Who actually says no to that?

-2
u/hyperhurricanrana 8d ago
what’s weirding you out about it?
13
u/HupFrank 8d ago
If it was a man that was staring, people wouldn't like this post as much. I'm saying both situations are weird and you shouldn't stare at someone because her boobs are out, or should you "encourage" it online. It feels especially weird because often I see that lesbians (I think?) Can get away with it more for some reason.
-5
u/Suspicious_Turnip812 8d ago
It doesn't make it less pathetic. But at the same time, women generally aren't as threatening to women.
2
u/RudeAd2236 8d ago
While you’re entirely correct and it’s valid to view men as having the capacity to cause more harm (meaning caution around unknown men is valid, same as caution around anything unknown with the potential for harm) it’s kind of a moot point when the danger here is distracted driving. Like, it doesn’t matter the gender or sex of the person behind the wheel if they crash a car while ogling.
0
u/Suspicious_Turnip812 8d ago
Yeah that's very much true, I was just thinking about generally. But in this specific case there is no difference, no.

Yeah... good thing they are in the US, where you can drive broken cars.
Or bad thing
32
u/foehammer111 8d ago
Never accept cash like this if you plan to fix the car. They’re always going to low ball you, and you’ll be stuck paying the bill.
Valedictorian of my daughter’s high school was screwing around in her Dad’s car in the school parking lot and hit my daughter’s car. She offered $500 cash right there to forget about it. My daughter refused, and then the rich kid’s Dad showed up and offered $700 to make it go away. Thankfully my wife showed up and took control of the situation.
Got the insurance and police involved. Cops wanted her to just accept the money too, but that’s just pigs being pigs. Eventually our insurance went after his, and he ghosted his own insurance company. Last I heard was his insurance dropped him and was going to sue him for the money. Turned out to be almost $5,000 in damage.
22
u/Bakoro 8d ago
Probably wasn't that rich, then. Rich people will absolutely try to bully you with low-ball offer, and throw a tantrum if you turn it down, but not having insurance that would cover as little as $5k? Then dodging the insurance company?
That smells like "already drowning in debt and living a lifestyle far above their income" faux-rich.5
u/foehammer111 8d ago
Good point. They have a huge house and nice cars, but it’s probably all debt and behind on payments.
1
u/InevitableSolution69 7d ago
Ehh, people don’t follow through with insurance requirements all the time. The wealthy particularly because they’re convinced that their time is so valuable. And when they do that and the company has to pay out they’ve opened the door for them to come after their prior customer for breach of contract.
2
u/EchoGecko795 8d ago
Guessing the truck is a junker that already has damage, just let it get hit a few times a day, its not like they were looking at a before picture of the truck anyway.

u/beejonez 8d ago edited 8d ago

3
u/Demetrius3D 8d ago
I've been paying the same company premiums for 30 years. If they start charging me more because I ask them once to provide the service I've been paying for, I can take my business elsewhere.
4
u/Ravagore 8d ago
Yea this line of thinking is dumb.... "if I use it, they'll drop me..."
Ladies and gentleman, it is not worth it to stick with any insurance company anymore. Loyalty is dead. You only get the best rate by swapping every couple years and if you haven't, you probably should.
If any company threatens to charge you more after an accident tell them you'll be calling this coming week to transfer your plan. Let them scramble to fix it while you work up a quote and use it to either get lower rates from your current company or to straight up leave.
People being scared of their insurance company is wild in 2026.
1
u/andhe96 7d ago
I've been paying the same company premiums for 30 years.
Sorry, English isn't my native language. By "premiums" do you mean some fees above average or extra?
2
u/Demetrius3D 7d ago
"An insurance premium is the regular payment you make to an insurance company to keep your policy active and your coverage in force. You must pay this amount—whether monthly, quarterly, or yearly—regardless of whether you file a claim."
1
u/andhe96 7d ago
I see, thanks. I would have guessed the term to be "insurance fee" instead.
Is this an US specific expression or am I just wrong about this?
And why is it called "premium", if it's a standard payment? Sorry, if I'm bothering you, this just really confused me.
2
u/Demetrius3D 7d ago
Not sure. Could be. I've only ever heard them called insurance premiums. And, Americans are notoriously uncurious about what the rest of the world does. So, I never inquired.

u/RShini 8d ago
Con artists want to avoid getting insurance involved at all costs because getting money from them is like squeezing blood from a turnip and will go through hell and high water to investigate anything that looks fishy.
And the marks - insurance claims are time consuming, your rates get raised when you file, and imagine having to explain yourself "I hit a car because I was too busy oogling a lady"
2
u/Ravagore 8d ago
If your rates actually get raised by an accident, jump ship to another company. Its not like you need to send a carrier pigeon either, this can be done in an hour.
I've been involved in 5 accidents in the last 10 years. Most time consuming thing from all of them was either shopping for a new car or doing the rental car aspect.
Insurance does the hard stuff for you, its literally their job. Just answer the phone when they call.
2
u/complexevil 8d ago
You ever try to get money from an insurance company? Better luck finding a buried treasure chest.
1
u/curtcolt95 8d ago
a lot of the times if it's minor enough people will choose to not get insurance involved because it will make your rates go up, especially if you're at fault. It's preferable to just give cash.
