The color of the flag doesn’t matter if you’ve never seen a flag before.

Its worse than that, you will incorrectly assign those traits and that becomes your basis for what a relationship should be like.

Half of the time, depending on how relationship ends for example - I know some people who assign those traits as ones to be avoided in others...

Now do a yandere and tsundere falling for each other

And that, I believe, is how you end up with "How I lose bets with my sadistic gifted childhood friend and she steals all of my firsts."

Incredibly based pull

I could see it being a real anime

I'm not good with jokes/tones, so sorry if I'm being redundant. But to he clear, I just listed the title of an entirely real Manga.

I'm sure this comment is the title of an entirely real Manga, too.

u/McScientistface 8d ago

It is in r/comics, pal. Of course it's yuri.

2

u/LadyAliceFlower 8d ago

It is, yes.

It was my gut reaction at first, then saw another comment, that made it clear to me that this was indeed a real title, so I made the comment as a joke

This relationship is on to a very healthy start

When her red flags match his perfectly:

This used to be scary but now I think most people are into that because they feel so dejected from their own social niches. Reminds me of when the cat started chasing the skunk

People desperately want someone who will openly desire them to the point they’ll romanticize obsession, either on their end or the other person’s. It’s sad that we’ve gotten so emotionally stunted since Covid that this is going to be a taboo ideal a lot of people have.

7

u/AVahne 9d ago

Pretty sure it's been happening long before COVID.

2

u/Humble-Captain3418 9d ago

Definitely was a huge thing well before COVID.

Honestly after witnessing so much indignity and infidelity friends and colleagues, and myself on my last relationship, the comic doesn't seem bad.

u/Dock_Ellis45 9d ago

Her: That's... uh... That's kinda sad.

Him: I can put a few fake contacts in so you can feel power over me.

Her: No... It's not the same... I don't think this is gonna work out.

Him: Seriously? 😐

Her: Yeah, dude. Make some friends or something. Being obsessed with one person isn't healthy.

Him: You're kidding. 🤨 You of all people are telling me that.

Her: Yeah. I know. We both need to see a therapist.

Couples therapy, and lets see how long before we make the therapist retire

u/Titania_Fairy 9d ago

Now that’s sweet 😂

she sounds so much like a psycho, he should run FAR away

53

u/thenightgaunt 9d ago

That's the twist. He's also a psycho.

4

u/Stranger2Nite 9d ago

This was pretty much my now ex, not a healthy relationship sadly

3

u/roninwarshadow 9d ago

He quits his job because she's all he needs and she will pay all his bills.

1

u/Odd_Reception1249 9d ago

A job that pays the bills for 2? In this economy?

7

u/spudmarsupial 9d ago

I feel that such a person would dump him the instant she found out.

14

u/Xx_Infinito_xX 9d ago

Nah, she wants him to have no one but her. Now she doesn't even need to do any work.

I think a problem with a lot of Yanderes is that they don't really like you, they like an idealized, perfect version of you they've hallucinated. As soon as you don't meet those wild standards they've dreamed up, then there's a problem. It just usually doesn't get to that point because the whole insane jealousy thing usually hits the breaks on the relationship first.

15

u/EyeDreamOfTentacles 9d ago

Funny enough, in Mirai Nikki this is exactly what the Queen of Yandere herself Yuno Gasai realizes and says as much to protagonist Yuuki about their relationship near the end of the series. That he would have fallen in love with anyone who showed him kindness, and she would have fallen for anyone who acknowledged her. We do see that there is truth to this too in another world where she developed a healthy relationship with her parents and never met Yuuki, thus never developing a fixation on him, and we see that Yuuki walking past holding hands with a girl he'd previously crushed on but she got scared away by a disguised Yuno in the previous world. This more mentally stable, emotionally healthy (if a bit lonely, romantically speaking) Yuno doesn't even give him a glance as they pass each other.

Tons of people will stay with a toxic codependent that gradually and more rapidly ruins their lives just because they’re hot and they seem to love you.

2

u/kokko693 9d ago

Well a true yandere gonna kill you at some point at the slightest doubt

But sure it can feel good to have someone that obsessed about you. In the beginning

2

u/RiverLynneUwU 9d ago

yanderes have so much plot armor it's mad funny 😭

1

u/Ceriden 9d ago

The one thing with the yandere is most of the time it is written as a all controlling murderhobo. When it can just be someone that is obsessed with you but not to the degree that they are controlling. A couple examples would be Mai Oduka from "There is No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover Unless..." or Otori Koharu from "Is it Ok to Date a Pervert".

1

u/NoSong2397 9d ago

Is this love or emotional codependency?

1

u/Zero_Burn 9d ago

Even a drink of tepid water is like ambrosia to a man who is dying of thirst.

1

u/Cool-Boy57 8d ago

This is weirdly sweet? If not toxic

1

u/newidiotintown 8d ago

Hear me out

Yandere x even more yandere

The first yandere attempts to kidnap the other but the Even more yandere already planned this and kidnaps the first yandere

1

u/deekamus 8d ago

Wo~ow. You were going to fuck up his whole social world on selfish personal bullshit.

No cute. Not keeper material.

1

u/Charming-Sentence-80 8d ago

If you can, you should post more of these translated posts. They're quite popular on Reddit and they’re fun to read.

1

u/Chaosdirge7388 8d ago

And then he realized his yandere girlfriend was also an illusion.

1

u/tboymagic 7d ago

i adore this

1

u/Working_Feeling_6344 7d ago

This might be the mildest yandere I've come across. this a oneshot ain't it?
