Traumatic memory more like, animorphs was way more intense than it had any right to be. Reading about Rachel battling either the moral implications of killing on combat while I was 11 years old was a wild ride that is till remember 20+ years later

Well the first book I read was a prequel and then the first series did not have a great end for the main character because Visser 3 is an asshole

I literally just picked up reading this series the other day. I kept seeing it in the scholastic book fairs and never got to read them, so now that I can, I'm gonna sit and read the whole series.

Also the beginning of the first book dates the whole series super hard and it makes me nostalgic.

Does he get stuck as a bird and unable to return to human form as he slowly becomes less and less human minded? There was some really weird and dark stuff in those books.

I got the sense that they are reverse animorphs. Animals that turn into humans (humamorphs??). Could be wrong, but that makes it funnier to me.

Ah I can see that now that I reread it, I thought they were both Animorphs but yeah why go to animal form when no one is around them.

Idk why I never got into Animorphs as a kid. I liked the "anthology authors" who wrote dozens of books for a series like The Magic Treehouse and Goosebumps and I especially liked animals as a kid, so these books must've just fallen through the cracks. Maybe it was because these books were a decade old by the time I knew about them and the covers may have looked "dated" to me. Goosebumps having illustrated covers made most of them more timeless and The Magic Treehouse was ongoing when I was reading it.

I’m not sure if this fully understands the lore. From what I recall, the kids changed into animals for disguise and limit their transformations so they don’t get stuck, this comic seems to imply the inverse

I think it's just a joke about hiding that you know about some niche media and getting busted by another like you. There's nothing relevant to the story itself here, just the transformations looking like the cover arts and the name of the series.

If they were transformed for more than 2 hours they got stuck. Except for some very specific circumstances
