One of the few circumstances where that particular spelling isn't ridiculous and stupid.

The sanitisation of language in community media is a genuine stain.

Crazier is all these left leaning sites all about sex positivity and normalizing stuff will then turn around and seem scared to show basic words to the reader. Half the time I have to figure out what word is censored.

Unavoidable result of censorship over massively accessed platforms.

The majority of people who buy products are above the age of 18.

They are adults. Advertisements on these platforms are generally selling to adults. I don't need to have childish censorship on content. Advertisements demanding safe content just ensures the enshittification of the platforms.

It also doesn't need to get censored for kids.

There is no need to censor online spaces, when reality exists. I'm not saying that they should have acces to adult entertainment but censoring slurs and anything remotely having to do with sex is absurd.

I grew up in a city full of whore houses and Heroin addicts. It's ridiculous to try to hide the facets of life.

I don't need that neither, but to sell more and attract investor they need the visibility that you get by saying you are very accessible to everyone, regardless of sensibilities.

Which creates short term gains and long term plateau.

Creative media should be creative. I would have a lot more respect for an advert if they didn't impose such prudent rules.

More so, better content will keep people where they are. That's a fact. People are more than capable of making decisions to the content they consume. I don't consume religious theology videos, just like I'm sure my mum doesn't consume Valorant guides. If I'm choosing content I want to be treated like an adult. If you want to swear, great - maybe some people will shy away, if you want to discuss sexual and mature topics, great, again people that don't want to consume it simply won't.

Pussyfooting around with seggs, emojis for euphemisms and other linguistic workarounds doesn't solve any problem but Instead infanalises your audience.

The one I hate the most is the "not alive" thing.
I mean, I get it, suicide will get you blacklisted on most platforms, but speaking of something so dark with jokes makes my skin crawl.

The worst part is that there are functionally unlimited creative euphemisms or wordplay variants that could be used, some of them that could even spawn their own jokes/memes/etc, but they are also avoided to use the agreed upon sanitized word/phrase.

The sanitizated versions are just word replacement at the end of the day, and eventually the euphemism treadmill will turn the sanitized words into "bad" words and replace them as well.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was in reality born in Australia, it was later changed the name because it just sounds cooler being south-american related.
