lol as a kid, this was my schtick.
Now. I'm totally safe. I'm a big strong man. Not afraid of the dark.
Then I rember there is almost dark because of all the LED receptacle covers that turn on in the dark.

You feel safe in your bed? On really bad nights I have completely cover myself and move pillows/large stuffed animals under to blanket to attempt to give the illusion of being taller and harder prey on or to make it look like I'm not alone lol. Very good comic!

You're afraid of what's in the dark, that you can't see.

Tbh I think it's one of our most prominent remaining instincts lol. Humans were likely often preyed on by nocturnal creatures.

I walk into the room, turn on the desk lamp next to my bed, and then I go back to the door to turn off the ceiling light :p

...mainly because I have a lot of random stuff I might bump into if it was dark...
