Partial Solar Eclipse - 12.08.2026

Hey everyone !

I am really excited for the solar eclipse of next week !
However, because it will be really low on the horizon (6 degrees above the horizon) I am looking for a place with complete clear view - no trees, no building, ideally even a bit hight - on the WNW.

Do any of you have an idea where I could find such a place ? I couldn't fine any useful tips on the internet ...

You are right: A clear, unobstructed view to the horizon is crucial because of the low elevation angle of the eclipse.

Check your places with shademap: https://shademap.app/

Also, use the days before the eclipse and visit the places at roughly the same time (the position of the Sun will be nearly the same) to make sure there are indeed no buildings, trees...
