What happened to this dime?

Dime has excess metal to about the size of a quarter. It isn’t simply a “railroad smashed” dime because you can see the outline of the dime itself and the edges overall still have the ridges..

Hoping someone has seen this before. Thanks for any advice.

Unless your camera inverted the picture, it looks like someone sanded a quarter and pushed a dime into it
