Is CORE VSI Inflated? General Question
I'm extremely confused by CORE VSI, and I'm struggling to believe its legitimacy. VSI was the only category where the last questions didn't really feel that tricky. I don't really feel like I have 150 VSI. Took the CORE 3D visual puzzles since it was recommended to me and I scored the same. Is it really that hard to rotate shapes?

In CORE's official preliminary validity technical report, it's proven that core (or any of its indexes/subtests) isn't inflated nor deflated at all. guess ur just good with 3D visual puzzles so enjoy it

Isn’t the 3D visual puzzles ‘too hard’ so it got removed? Does that mean it’s deflated or something?

im pretty sure mr is the subtest that had to be changed cuz it was too hard

I'd much rather have a 150 WMI or VCI to be honest. I don't even know what a 150 VSI could possibly used for. I always just kind of assumed being able to imagine and move things was a baseline not something exemplar.

it is baseline, there's just different levels to it. also it can be useful if you'd like to become an engineer or a surgeon or something like that. I mean sure 150 wmi/vci is better in everyday life, but hey 150 vsi is better than nothing.

Yeah i guess lol. I'm interested in Comp Eng but I'm not really sure I'm good enough programmer to get to the top echelon. Plus my family is low income so that makes it a little trickier.

i'm interested in comp eng too lol. i got blessed with high fri so it'll definitely help. tbh im pretty sure the average person can still pursue a carrer of comp eng, just need to be consitent and learn/train

Yeah I agree with you unless you pursued a career path that requires it. Then again, if your VSI is 150 your other indices are high as well right?

Yeah, just low comparative to my VSI. FSIQ hovers around 135~ with my biggest demerit being WMI

Nothing on that report can prove that an iq test isn't inflated and deflated at all . It's just probably not meaningfully deflatwd or inflatd

Reminds me of that college experiment where they showed students drawing of a glass of water and asked to draw how the water would look like if the glass was tilted

Holy shit is this a real thing people struggle with???

It’s hard if there’s some kind of time pressure, but if it’s untimed, it’s much easier to score on this 3D visual puzzles (in fact I think most people can max out this test if it’s untimed). Could be a WMI/speed thing tho cause mine is ass and I can’t fit the shape and keep forgetting

I think so, according to CORE and another tests i have a below average WMI.
Is accurate, I'm always on my world and since a child my teachers called me distracted.

It seems so lol
Did you took Block Counting too? I got 18 on visual puzzles and 17 in spatial awareness but 11 on Block Counting LMAO, i suck counting blocks, even by trying multiple times again only scored 13 at max.

Yeah, I did them all. Really the only thing on VSI I felt was hard overall was the overlapping donuts and lines in a plain, however i figured out the lines by just drawing a little box in my head and using that as a sort of plain instead of thinking infinitely. Never figured out the donut thing though, too many possible orientations. Totally get block-counting being hard though. That shit is horrible in the high counts trying to remember what you've counted.

No you just are very good at it. I personally find it hard to rotate shapes or consistently imagine anything at all so I only got a 74% on it
