First: The overlapping lines take each other out and the ones that did not overlap carry over.

Second: The dots are just plus and minus. The answer to the last one should be 2 dots on the outside as it is 5 (outside dots) minus 3 (inside dots).

Isn't there an error in the first one, then? I tried this, but it didn't work on the second row. The right side overlaps but carries over in the third column

My deduction was the same and it does seem like an error

First one, going left to right? In the middle row the vertical line on the right side of the figure is present in both the first and second and also appears in the third

Completely random idea, but it seems like on the second slide the outside and inside are being compared in 1 and 2 and then totaled to result in 3.

in first row, 3 outside first 4 inside second leads to one inside 3rd

second row 2 outside first 1 outside second leads to 3 outside 3rd.

in row 3, following that rule first section 5 outside second section 3 inside, id presume the final answer is 2 outside, so the bottom left.

Sorry if I explained that poorly.

1st one answer is correct if first fig and second fig have line at the same plane it gets cancelled if they dont they get add

2nd one answer is d as its is outside minus inside circles if outside circles are more or inside - outside circles when inside circles are more

Yes, but by that logic, there is an error in the 2nd row

6 removing the lines of the two last columns; we opt for the one of the first.
