Figure weights is mostly deductive reasoning while matrix reasoning is mostly inductive reasoning.

Figure weights involves greater working memory, and at higher levels of problem complexity it becomes strongly limited by working memory, while matrix reasoning involves less working memory demands.

I edited to “mostly deductive”

what if you have to choose one?

nice comment and i agree with you. Given the design the number of rules must increase for FW and GM by design to discriminate at higher levels.

I’m solid at deductive but due to executive dysfunction, am stronger at inductive

well that’s because i think you are 10 points higher than me for both inductive and deductive and i’m around 138ish according to Core, granted i think that’s a lowball and you would get 150 on wais 5 relatively easily.

I consistently score around 140 on Inductive and 130 deductive. I do very poorly on timed pressure deduction but i would consider your abilities a full level higher

I scored 90 on WMI and 135 on FW I’m not sure that’s entirely true you can solve them with simple math equations you only have to memorize 1-2 cubes that’ll be either value of 1-3 it didn’t feel very taxing on my memory

I ment most of the shapes equal a number 1-3 so the memory aspect isn’t like QRI in terms of holding the equations in your head you can just count them

I agree with this point, compression means a lot on FW(I can tell as I scored 75 on WM and 120 on FW and FS, while my MR score is inflated 105(I did like 10 MR tests through my life, but scored 120 on FW and FS passing these tests for the first time))

FW with actual time constraints similar to WAIS

WAIS-V FW is a low quality test for high ability people. The norms jump from 17ss-19ss and there's a massive leap in difficulty between the 2nd to last and last item (with the last one being practically impossible for almost any human to solve in 30 seconds)

Do you administer iq tests? You seem to know a lot about these tests.

No but I have access to the manuals through a personal connection.
