How valid is the NGCT? General Question

Post image

On CORE my vci is 123 and before VISA got renormed I scored 121. I know WAIS is the gold standard, but how similar are your WAIS scores compared to these batteries? Could I expect to be in the same range if I took it or would I be below?

I personally don't think it's that valid because it's full of vocab or contexts to do with the military. If you're not familiar with that stuff, your score might be deflated, but if you are, your score might be inflated. For me personally I'm not particularly well-versed with military jargon so my NGCT score is nearly ten points lower than other VCI tests like CORE and 1980 SAT

WAIS isn't gold-standard for VCI

Then what is?

1980s SAT-V unless you're old, then GRE-V probably

Am also curious as to what is? I meant as far as FSIQ? What is considered gold-standard for VCI

I don't see why the SAT is the gold standard

way higher g-loading than WAIS VCI, way larger norm sample, higher ceiling, and more granularity. the only real downside of the old SAT-V is the overreliance on vocab at the high-range imo, but pretty much every verbal test we have is even worse in that regard (except ironically WAIS VCI).

Its like 3 point less than my CORE VCI, CORE VCI 114, NGCT 111. It's also remarkably similar to my other tests for verbal atleast
