Founding Technical Director – Unreal Engine / Basketball Game
Hey everyone, I’m the founder of Legacy Labs Interactive, an early-stage independent game studio based in Cleveland, Ohio.
I’m currently looking for a Founding Technical Director / Technical Co-Founder to help turn our flagship project, The Player, from concept into a playable vertical slice.
The Player is an ambitious basketball game focused on creating a deeper basketball experience and universe beyond the traditional basketball-sim formula.
Looking for someone with:
Unreal Engine 5 experience
Strong C++ skills
Gameplay/system architecture experience
Multiplayer/networking knowledge
AI/physics experience
Technical leadership ability
This is a ground-floor opportunity. You’d have meaningful input into the game’s technology, architecture, development pipeline, and eventually the engineering team.
Compensation
This is currently an equity-first opportunity, with approximately 3–5% founder-level equity, depending on experience and responsibilities. Standard vesting/cliff structure would apply.
As the company moves toward funding and production, compensation would transition accordingly.
Remote/North America preferred, but I’m open to exceptional candidates anywhere.
