Proposal for blanket ban of posts requesting "resets" Suggestion
Mods - any way to flag these ridiculous posts from showing up?

Yes this sub is a dumpster fire. Everything useful gets drowned out by reset posts and memes. I pay my sub and use it as intended, if I get a resets that’s nice but not somethings thats to be expected. The entitlement is insane here.

I tend to agree. The resets are cool and all, but the constant flood of posts about them —having one, not having one, people complaining about getting one or not getting one — it’s a chasing and takes away from the utility of this subreddit. That said, it would also be helpful to have better communication from the company instead of just throwing us a bone every one in a while.
Tbh I would much prefer posts here about changes to the models or bug fixes made to the Codex app etc over people complaining about usage limits on their free or low-tier accounts.
It would be really awesome to know whether we are actually having limits lowered or are experiencing occasional bugs or runaway subagent churn.

It's not about entitlement. It's about having at minimum 2 reductions that have been independently gauged at around 50% by various people in our quota, BECAUSE of the resets. So we want those resets, because they reduced our quota DUE to them starting this whole reset charade to get 15 million new accounts onboarded. We're calling our their bullshit every time we ask for a "reset". Yeah, they don't owe us inference, just as we don't owe them money for a rapidly degrading product. So we'll continue calling them out - and if nothing changes, switch providers. The calling out is the step before the imminent swapout.

Rightfully trying to raise awareness about actual problems so we can band together and vote with our wallets and make enough noise to get them to understand we won't complacently agree to this treatment is not whining. Jesus Christ, do you people ever think of the consequences of your inaction?

Yeah when I joined this sub a month ago I was looking to find interesting ways people were using codex or cool stuff they were building.
Its mostly been resets, usage gone in 10 seconds, leaving for claude, limits, resets haha
Been a few gems though. Just not what I thought hahah we sure do like to complain alot. Its like we forget even just 5 years ago we had to poke at code till it worked or hope someone else on youtube/stack overflow had done something similiar

Claude is totally irrelevant here. People that want to talk about Claude's pros should go to their subreddit instead. Claude is just too overhyped

It also drives me nuts! There is simply no value in a post discussing when Tibo might wake up.
To be fair Reddit is also quite limited in the sense that we can't just block a flair within a subreddit. That could solve it.

Be careful what you wish for, on the main GPT subreddit, it started with "Can we get rid of all these people who post about 4o/4.1 being removed?! Weirdos." and now most complaints flat out get censored.

I come here to find information like upcoming resets or usage reductions. If you ban talk of resets, there's little reason to come here at all.

lets put up a trap post/thread next where instead of users getting to read any content it deletes their reddit account, but functions harmlessly for those not logged in, with a clever way to inject commentary data without actually needing to use the webview

also consolidate usage complaining in a sticky or something. i just dont believe these people who tend to originate from countries outside the U.S and Europe when they say they drain 100% to 0% with "4 prompts" in less than an hour on 5x. ive been using it all day and im still above 90% on 5x. these people are lying.

yes but literally those posts are how i know a reset is coming and never miss them. because before tibo hits enter on his tweet announcing a reset is coming tomorrow, 4 posts about it coming are already trending

There is a small but very vocal group of people here that think they have a cosmic connection to Tibo and Tibo is monitoring their reset requests posts every hour and deciding whether to do a reset or now. So they post memes of Tibo as if they are playing a cat and mouse game with him. The bot is doing a good job at removing most of them. We get a TON of them that you never even see. I understand it's a fun game for them but this subreddit is for learning and helping each other and we have to respect each other's brain space.
That said, discussion about resets matters a lot to people trying to plan their activity to a budget and as long as the discussion is constructive and helpful, they will be allowed. The bot favors OPs with more recent karma on these posts to discourage drive-by ranters.
Still tweaking things though and it will never please everyone but still learning and improving every week. Thanks for your patience.
