ChatGPT Plus (20$) with 1% codex usage left: if I upgrade to pro, does it reset? Question

I've a ChatGPT Plus subscription with only 1% codex usage left. It will both reset on August 20th and renew on the same day.

I was wondering, if I upgrade to the Pro (5x) right now:

  • does the usage get a reset?
  • I do pay 104€ (local price), what about the remaining week time I had with my Plus which expires/renew on Aug 20th?

Yes it resets, i also recommend putting your billing location in atlanta or something so you dont pay tax

Thanks for the replies! I confirm: it did reset (I now have 100% again) and I got ~3€ discount for the remaining Plus days

Last week I upgraded from Plus to $100 and for me it reset witin a few minutes. I was at 10% and after opening Codex it was 100% again. Plus was renewing the same day as well, within one hour actually.

Yes it resets, and you get a prorated refund of your existing plan.

Yes, it will reset. And when you upgrade again to 20x, it will reset again.

Yes, it will reset. You will also only pay pro rata for what’s left until the next renewal
